We're running a number of torque tests on VCR compression fittings at torques up to 130 in-lb and need continuous readout of the torque applied as we torque over fixed angles of rotation. The Summit Tools 1/4 inch Digital Torque Wrench provided that capability with its realtime LCD digital readout and also provides a memory function of the max torque achieved and a buzzer alarm when a preset level is reached. We used all three functions simultaneously and it worked great. The challenge we had was simultaneously reading the protractor angle readout and the torque wrench's digital readout. That was solved by setting up a GoPro camera above the test setup and recording the torquing operation as a video. We used a GoPro compatible underwater LED light to provide good illumination of the torque-wrench LCD. In general the torque wrench worked splendidly, but its LCD readout is quite small and often hard to read without special attention to the lighting. That was finally solved with the bright GoPro LED light. The other thing we had to watch is the wrench turning itself off after it times out to save the batteries. More that once we ran a test and found the wrench turned off because we forgot to reset its turnoff time at the start of the test. That's user error, but something you have to watch...could be a problem if it turns off and you over-torque something while waiting for the buzzer to go off. I didn't look to see if you could set a longer turn-off time delay. With that said, it's definitely recommended for the sort of continuous-readout testing we were doing. Purchased this torque wrench for a hotel remodel project I'm doing. Needed something on the smaller side. It will get a lot of use. Need to torque allen screws on the sliding barn door rails. 7 screws each door times 387 doors. Hope it holds up. So far for the first week it seem to work well with the exception of the fit of the allen head tips. The metric 5mm tip does not fit snugly and gets twisted and stuck in the screwhead. Need to wiggle it every time to get it loose. Other than that it is a very nice tool. I can see where I will need to buy more 5mm tips. My regular 5mm wrench fits perfectly. Don't understand the sloppy fit of the tip that came with the wrench. I will update when it gets more use. But for now I am pleased with it. Update on torque wrench. May 28th. The torque wrench has been on the jobsite for nearly 3 months now. They are using the heck out of it. Tightened over 1200 screws and the tip finally broke. I don't think it's any fault of the manufacturer. Purchased a new 3/8 drive socket w/5mm tip for $2 at the local home store. Works great. Wrench is holding up very well. Changed the batteries when needed and it keeps on ticking. Seem to be accurate enough for our purposes. Well worth the price. ... show more

battery cap relies on plastic nibs to hold pressure on the battery and make a connection. they broke off on the first use. Update, no product website, or phone number, left me believing I was on my own to fix this. I was able to contact the seller via Amazon and he will be sending a new cap out. Does what it’s supposed to. Very sturdy little torque wrench. Would have given 5 stars if you could set what torque you wanted it at and it would beep when you reached it. I only use mine on my dirtbike so it works fine with having to read it while torquing.

I love the fact this goes down to 2.2 ft-lb and only regret was not getting the one to 62 ft-lb instead of the one to 44. I def did because I bought this product used but like new. I like how it shows the reading and worked well but a lot of other digital wrenches have lights or alarms to alert you at your torque….so pay attention… ... show more

I spent quite some time in my garage with this tool. The biggest issue of this torque wrench is not getting any audible alert when you have reached it, so other than the LCD confirming it, you're kind of in the dark unless you watch it like a hawk. Know nothing about the accuracy, trust that they know what they are doing ... show more

Just want to point out that this torque wrench can not have a target set point programmed into it. So if your looking for a Summit torque wrench that you can adjust a set point with buzzer alert this is the wrong wrench.
