A couple of years ago our Summer Waves filter pump died and we replaced it with a sand filter pump. We learned after about a year of use with the sand filter pump, the original filter pump worked to filter the water so much better for our above ground pool. So, I began to search for a pump similar to the original one and found the exact pump on Amazon. I was so excited! And so far after a couple of weeks of use, it is working great! It was very easy to install and overall is a great pump at a great price!! Thanks Amazon!!!

***UPDATE***06/30/22 Well this pump lasted a year and died. No replacement parts avaliable, so we had to buy another. We installed this replacement pump on 06/06/21. Works great so far and hope it lasts for a year. This is the same pump model that originally came with the pool, which only lasted for 1.5 years. We replaced that one with a more expensive pump but it lasted only 2 years. So we opted to go back to the cheaper original model. Crazy your above ground pool should last 5 years but you have to buy a new pump every year. Fast delivery!! It arrived, in an open, badly damaged box, BUT 5 days early.

This filter pump was a great replacement for my Summerwaves pool that had a SFX1000. It even came with a new filter, a hose and hose clamps (that really needed replacing on my old one because they felt very brittle due to sun damage) . I did not know that it had a timer on the plug which only has to set for the maximum time on of 10 hours. I like to keep my pump running all the time if possible. So I did remove the plug from my old pump and replaced the plug that it came with. It was easy I just unscrewed the 4 phillips screws on it and was able to access the wires that are exactly the same on each one.

First off I gotta say this seller ships their orders within hours! Definitely a plus when you have a pump that’s not working in the middle of the summer. Did not even work for a full month. Ceramic pin was broken (common problem, apparently). Replaced it with the pin from parts salvaged from the original pump that this one replaced (original pump came with the pool and worked for TWO YEARS in Florida and ceramic pin was intact), but this pump still does not work. It gets power and emits a low hum, but does not, you know, PUMP WATER. Contacted seller and *they asked me how I wanted to proceed.* I requested that they send a new one and I would return the broken one once switched out. They then emailed me TWICE letting me know that they want me to send in this one before they’ll replace it. What was the point of asking me how I wanted to proceed? So, I guess I’ll just have some gaping holes in the above ground pool for however long until they process my return and send me a new one? Completely unsatisfactory. ***Don’t waste your money.*** Look for alternatives, because what they are selling is absolute junk. I feel certain that the new replacement will break down just as quickly.

If you have a 3500 gallon pool well then this filter will save you! My dogs chewed up the wire and I was freaking out on where to find one. I went to so many pool stores and others and they kept saying they couldn’t do anything for me so I searched and found it within a few seconds! But back to the main product it works amazing worth your money and would suggest to anyone with a 3500 or lower or a bit higher.
