This was a life saver after my GSD’s spay surgery. It was easy to put on her, it covered her entire stomach area, and the material is soft and not bulky. The built in pocket on the stomach area was a great feature if I had needed to put a pad or guaze in for drainage (thankfully I didn’t need to but the feature is nice). I ordered a large and extra large to try because even though my GSD is on the small side (65 pounds), she is long. The large fit her perfectly but I ended up keeping both and used safety pins to shorten the XL. I was glad to have two suits after she rolled in the grass after a big rain and got hers wet and muddy. Our 1.5 year old Australian Shepherd was spayed a week ago. They sent her home with a cone and she was so miserable. I had already ordered this product but I did it too late and we didn’t have it yet. She cried all night long and wouldn’t move. She was miserable. The next day I went to pet smart and they had a surgical recovery suit, but the fit was wrong. For her weight (55 lbs) the suit did not cover her stitches which is literally the only point of the suit. The next size down was uncomfortably tight on her. Also, the way the snaps and Velcro worked it was cumbersome. Then this suit by Suitical came in the mail and EVERYTHING CHANGED! It fit comfortably with much better fabric. The poly-cotton blend was stretch enough and soft enough to wear but has still been durable. I took her for a walk and she urinated before I could get it unsnapped. (It was my fault). So I had to remove it and wash it for her. I washed it by hand in the sink and then dried it on cool, air dry. It did not lose its shape or size!! This dog is so special to me. I want her to have as easy a time as possible. It would not have happened without this product. The Suitical suit protected her stitches while being comfortable enough for her to wear 24 hours a day during her recovery. She is happy and recovering nicely. I bought this for my Rottweiler after she was spayed. The material is soft and it fit well. I bought a different brand with Velcro and I preferred the snaps on this one. My dog was very cooperative so it was easy to put on and take off. The quality of fabric is good. We used it for 14 days and did not develop any holes. My dog has a docked tail and we did have an issue keeping it in place. It would slide down some and then become more stretched out. Ordered this in advance of our Yorkie’s spay procedure and after seeing the quality and fit, ordered a second to alternate over her ten day recovery. No embarrassing, awkward cone to deal with, added comfort for her and her incision has been a non-issue for three days post-op. The pop of teal color is a completely unnecessary but well appreciated style detail. Makes me smile. Easy to unsnap, fold up and snap out of the way for her to potty without having to remove and redress. Will probably keep and use as pajamas over the winter months. *She is accustomed to wearing sweaters so this was no adjustment for her. Would suggest that if considering. My dog suffers from allergies and I bought this to prevent him from scratching. It fits him, I measured him and he was 24 inches, so I went with the medium. He has a broad chest and wide neck and the suit is tight in that area. He just cannot relax with it on, I should have went with the larger size by it says recommended to size down.
