I found the stud finder extremely accurate. I had to install a wall mount to the drywall. I turned the unit on, and set the wall parameters and started my scan. The easy to see screen and its ability to place arrows at the direction you need to go and finally the two arrows pointing in at the same time indicating the center of the stud as well as location of the outer edges was really close. After i installed the wallmount and played around with the unit more, and its ability to find wires and pipes too, was simply amazing. I am very happy with this device, and sure beats the old fashioned kind that literally were usually not accurate at best. The learning curve is pretty straight forward as our the settings, and a quick read over of instructions on the unit, makes it easy to use ina short order. I highly recommend this unit, and perfect for most applications. As with any stud finder though, drill a small hole and check your stud location to insure you are where you need to be. With any electronic device there can always be a mis calulation in some instances so play smart. Overall I gave this unit 5 star for ease of use, and all the abilities of scans it can perform. The unit feels durable and comes in a nice storage sleeve. If you need to a device to find wires or pipes or even that stud this unit is worth a try. I am completely happy. ... show more

I've had this unit for about 8 months and have used it several times. It's easy to use and simple to figure out. It's easy to switch to different materials. The power line detector has given several false readings but it has never not detected power just detected power when none is present. It has never failed to find a stud which is the main purpose. I wouldn't use this for a business but for around the house or garage, it seems to work great. I got this people I didn't want the kids using my good detector and compared to it, you can tell it's a cheaper unit, but it has worked every time I needed it. ... show more
