Description

C.H. Hanson's Magnetic Stud Finder uses powerful rare earth magnets to locate metal and wood studs in even the thickest walls. Because it uses these amazing magnets, batteries are not required. The Stud Finder includes a rotating level for vertical and horiztonal marking. This small but powerful tool fits easily into your pocket, armed and ready to help with remodeling, new construction, and all sorts of DIY projects. The Stud 4 Sure is a stud finder that uses powerful rare earth magnets to pinpoint the exact location of screws or nails in a stud. The tool doesn’t require batteries and never needs calibration. By keeping the tool free of moving or electronic parts, the Stud 4 Sure is easy to use and fits easily into any tool pouch. Just place the stud finder on the wall and sweep in an "S" pattern to locate any metal fastener. The rare earth magnets are strong enough to allow Stud 4 Sure to hang hands-free on a wall, eliminating the need for pencil markings. The ergonomically designed, China made product is guaranteed to last a lifetime of being tossed, dropped, and banged around. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); From the Manufacturer Positively locates nails and screws with powerful "neodymium" magnets. The magnetic stud finder works like magic. It sticks to the wall leaving your hands free--no batteries, no calibration, no lights, no hassle. It works on wood or metal studs, and uses multiple industrial strength magnets to “Field Vector” the stud. This is the last stud finder you will ever buy. Simply slide the flat surface of the magnetic stud finder slowly across a wall in a circular or "S" motion until you feel a strong pull to a nail head or screw. Once you have the magnetic stud finder directly above a nail head or screw, let it go and it sticks to the wall. See more

  • Dummy-proof
Number of Items: 1
The media could not be loaded. This is easily one of the best gadgets I've purchased. I've used the electronic version of these, often finding the batteries are dead the one time every six months you happen to need it. This one is dummy-proof. There are nails in your wall studs that the strong magnets in the stud finder grab onto. There's a plumb-bob (vertical) and leveler (horizontal) bubble in the center to make sure you've got the stud finder straight. The yellow circle housing the bubble twists depending on which way you're trying to align. Make a pencil mark on your wall and you're set to mount things, hand heavy paintings, etc. I picked mine up to mount a pull-up bar and gymnastics rings I bought on Amazon Prime Day. I expected it to take at least a few swipes across the wall before the stud finder magnets connected with stud nails, but I got lucky and landed on some immediately. Be aware though that not every bit of metal in your wall is a stud nail. Perhaps most common is the metal protecting corners from floor to ceiling. I actually leave my stud finder on a wall in my home on one of these corners. You'll want to hold the stud finder somewhat gently and move it slowly in a swooping motion until it locks onto a stud. On my walls, it was very easy to tell when you were over a nail, but if you are struggling to feel it, tie a string to your stud finder and let it dangle beside the wall and you'll find a nail. You can then move it straight down or straight up to find other nails on that stud (so you don't run into them with whatever you're hanging). You should be able to find the next stud 16" or 24" inches away. Figure out the correct distance, use a tape measure to mark the studs, then throw the magnetic stud finder up to confirm you're right, and you'll know the studs' locations quickly. Thanks to this thing, I have a solid, new, exercise setup that I'm enjoying a lot. I don't have a regular need for a stud finder, so the fact that this one is so inexpensive and effective is perfect. I will absolutely buy another if it gets lost. Hope that's helpful. ... show more

I have this little stud finder stuck to my fridge so it's handy when I need it. I use it any time I hang something. It's a simple gadget and very sturdy.

  • Easy peasy and accurate
Number of Items: 1
You know the saying "You get what you pay for". Sometimes that's incorrect and doesn't apply to everything. I've learned this the hard way when purchasing an electronic stud finder. Cost 3-4 times this price and doesn't do very well. In fact, accuracy was inconsistent. I was very skeptical of other YouTubers mentioning this product and demonstrating it. I thought it was too good to be true. Since I was trying to mount a flat-screen TV on the wall. I didn't want to drill holes into gas or water pipes, or any electrical wiring. That's the scary part. It doesn't detect any of those. So I researched carefully over several videos to show how to prevent that from happening. Cause this device which everyone knows doesn't require any batteries, any fancy technologies which could bring flaws. This was simply attaching itself to a stud and it worked flawlessly every time. Unlike the electronic stud finder which brings inconsistent results and pointed out studs that were within range, but, it was off the mark. The fact is, I've read that you must have in the center of a stud and not on the side. Once I saw the demonstrations on if the nail isn't centered on the stud or close to it, it would cost more headaches and damage. Anyway, a small little built-in leveler as well. I've decided to test an area close to the bottom where a stud was found using this tool. I using a small drill bit and let it sink into the drywall. Make sure there were sudden shifts in changes of the feel of if I had to apply more pressure or not. I've also looked to see if fragments of wood was evident on the drill bit. To that extent, it was correct. I found small pieces of wood on my drill bit and I knew it was safe. I just have to find one stud since the mounting plate, required 3 holes drilled into the stud vertical. (Note: I did drill them at the level I wanted to, I just drilled the first test in order to prevent them from being seen). 3 weeks have passed since I have mountained my TV, and it's one that can fully extend and tilt.. No problems with the TV and no signs of it showing stress on the stud. So happy to find such a cheap and accurate stud finder. Sometimes you just need basic tools to get the job done. This will serve me well for putting up floating shelves or other DIY projects in the future. ... show more

  • Simple, powerful, perfect — magnetic stud-finder and mini-level
Number of Items: 1
I bought this CH Hanson Magnetic stud finder nearly 10 years ago to replace a similar one that I’d lost, and it has held up amazingly well — a decade later and it still looks brand new, and the magnet hasn’t lost any of its power and the level still works too. The magnet on this tiny little pocket-sized stud-finder is STRONG. Any time I forgetfully slip it into my pocket that I keep my keys in, I have to pry it off of my keys and any other random bits of metal (nails, screws, paper clips, everyday carry keychain tools, etc) I might’ve been carrying around me haha. In addition to working as a stud-finder and quick level-check, the strength of the magnet also makes it handy for quickly finding dropped screws on the ground — just run this along any area where you might’ve dropped something metal, and this little beast will grab it. I like to use this alongside an electric stud-finder when possible — the electric ones (the battery-powered scanners) can be prone to false positives and and often need to be run across walls multiple times, but they can also provide more insight into where the center of the stud is, if there’s the danger of live electrical wires behind the wall, and the rough depth of the wood, etc. — whereas this classic magnet-style one will simply clamp onto whatever part of the wall has some metal behind it… But by using both the electric ones and the old-school magnet style stud finders on separate passes, you can quickly narrow things down to the safest places to drill. ... show more
