The most important part is to find the stud as this one does like no other I have seen. Well worth the price, the ease of using it wow, locates exactly so you have a visual image of what's behind the wall. Couldn't be more pleased with what I consider a bargain for the price.

This is easy and fast to use. I had one that connected to my phone... it was harder to use. It didn't pick up the "behind the wall" items as easily as it advertised, and it had to be recharged every time I wanted to use it, which was only once every 2-3 years. That was enough that I stopped using it. I bought this to replace that one. It is great. It is fast, easy, accurate. Because of that, I actually use it a lot more frequently than I did the other one. The convenience really made the difference.

So after buying a handful of stud finders at local home improvement stores that left me finding nothing but wall voids and making hole after hole, I decided to do some research. This had great reviews, and the price was really good, so I decided to give it a try. I'm really impressed by this unit! Worked great, found the studs in my very non-code wall, and was able to hang some book shelves. I definitely recommend this to any DYI'er.

I'm finishing up building myself a 2200sf house. Solo. Good tools are my only helpers. My old stud finder died and I ordered a cheap but highly-rated Chinese replacement here on Amazon. Completely useless. So I decided to throw down for this not so cheap but highly-rated model. I wish I had bought one of these years ago. It's awesome. I love that there's no startup/calibration time; as soon as you pinch the button it's working. That may only save 5 or so minutes of time over a day of installing baseboards etc, but the other finder I was using gave me the same awful feeling as waiting in stop-and-go traffic, despite the calibration time only being maybe 3 seconds before each scan. The wide field of indicators is a brilliant design and really gives you confidence that the stud is where you're about to drill. The only downside to this device is I find it has a hard time locating studs at wall corners, either inside or outside. This isn't a huge deal at wall edges like doorways because you can pretty safely assume there's a stud there, but I was surprised by this issue. Yesterday it was failing to see several 4x6 LVL posts at a door opening, covered with only one layer of standard sheetrock, which is bizarre given LVL's density. Perhaps metal drywall edge at corners throws off the sensors, IDK. Regardless, this is still the best stud finder I've used.

This stud finder just simply works. I tried a cheeper one and was forever punching holes looking for studs. This unit is accurate and simple!

I used to use the old style where it would beep but it was hit or miss and so I switched to just using a magnet and that worked but it usually required hammering so nails so you can find the middle of the stud. That was fine for the garage but I was hanging some on my newly painted walls and didn't want to fill nail holes. Well this thing shows exactly where the start and end of the stud is and then I could drill right into the middle. I was using 1/4 bolts so accuracy was fairly important and the is tool worked perfectly. I wish I had bought this year's ago. I've only used it twice so no longevity testing but I so far I live it and can't wait till I need to use it again.
