  • Fastest, most repeatable and most accurate stud (and power) finder that I've ever used!
Best studfinder I've ever seen. I tried a couple of others but they weren't giving repeatable results and weren't very good at actually finding studs, which is a problem. The Franklin ProSensor X990 gives me repeatable results every time. Another feature I like is that the leds will begin to turn red in the direction of the stud you're about to go over, and then shows the center led as green when you're in the middle of the stud. Works every time and only takes a few seconds to find the stud. Plus it also has two leds shaped like lightning bolts that light up when there's a power cable in the wall that you're going over. Since I had bought a Teslong Inspect-5ft borescope and had to drill holes in the same wall for drywall anchors, I used the anchor holes to inspect behind the wall and confirmed that in two different walls that there were indeed electrical cables behind the wall. In one case it was easy to expect power due to the wall switch being in that area, but in another, there was no clear outside indication that were was a power cable behind the wall so I was surprised when the Franklin's power indicators first came on. This is now my go-to stud finder since its so quick and easy to use and always on target. Very accurate and very sensitive, but doesn't give false positives, and is even ergonomically designed so it feels comfortable while moving it across the drywall. ... show more

  • Best stud finder I’ve used
I’ve used a few cheap stud finders over the years and they’re frustrating. They’re basically an educated guess as to where the stud is in the wall, and in some cases they don’t work at all. I got fed up with my last one after it stopped working and thought I would try a higher quality one instead. This works surprisingly well - I love the indicator showing the middle of the stud, and it’s been very accurate so far. By far the easiest and best stud finder I’ve used. I haven’t owned this that long, but I’m hopeful this will be the last stud finder I’ll own. Well worth it for the price. ... show more

  • Accurate, User-Friendly, and Safety-First
The Franklin Sensors ProSensor M150 is a standout tool for anyone tackling home improvement projects. Equipped with 9 precision sensors, it offers unparalleled accuracy by simultaneously detecting the full width of studs, including their center and edges. This feature is particularly beneficial for locating both single and double studs, which can be challenging for other stud finders. The LED display provides clear visual feedback, enhancing confidence during installations. Additionally, the built-in live wire detection adds an extra layer of safety, alerting users to potential electrical hazards behind the wall. With its user-friendly design and reliable performance, the ProSensor M150 is a valuable addition to any toolkit ... show more

  • Works as advertised!
I had no problem finding the center oh studs behind my sheet rock wall. It would be good if you didn’t have to hold the button down with your finger while scanning. Otherwise I am pleased with it.

  • Great stud sensor.
Finally a stud sensor that works every time. It really finds the exact center of a stud quickly and also finds electrical wiring. I have had two other sensors which had marginal success. This unit worked first time every time. The only place it had a little trouble was on an exterior wall with insulation and stucco mesh behind the drywall. It differentiated fairly well and with a little practice, I was able to get a fairly accurate result on the exterior wall. It is intuitive and easy to use. Really happy with the accuracy of the sensor. ... show more

This literally saved my walls from being covered in alot more drill holes than it has now. I wish I purchased this before I started remodeling my room lol. Definitely worth the money to buy this guys, save yourself the hassle. Its pretty compact so it wont be hard to store in a drawer. Pretty on the light side in terms of weight. Easy to use, its just pretty a button. Accurate as hell and works amazing. ... show more

  • High quality, durable, works well, easy to identify center of studs.
Super terrific product, works way better than the cheap ones I previously only got single uses out of in the past.

  • Get It, Don't Even Think About It, Get The Franklin!
Love it. LOVE IT. Had a nightmare trying to find actual studs using one of those Chinese stud finders, it gave me false readings all over the place. Sure it was fancy with different depth readings and it claimed it could detect steel and whatever, but -- it was a nightmare to use. Threw it in the trash. Saw all the 5-star reviews on Franklin. Practically no "features", it just tells you where the stud is, and gives you a really really good indication where the center of that stud is. It's got a series of sensors, and each one lights up when it detects a density difference behind the drywall. The practical effect is that it shows five red lights when there's a stud there. You can slide it up, down, sideways, whatever, those five lights will show where the stud is. Move it side to side, and the five lights will move across the sensor, targeting exactly where the stud is. And if you move the sensor so it's centered over the stud, then a green light pops up to show you where the center is. This particular unit also senses live electrical wire behind the drywall. It doesn't give you fancy graphs or drawings like the crapola cheapo sensors; instead it just lights up a yellow "electricity" symbol if it detects live wires. You can move it up, down, and around, to narrow where the wires are. Those other sensors are like all-in-one multitools, but I've had a few and they all just suck. The Franklin is like a sledgehammer -- it does exactly what it does, it doesn't do anything else, it has one job, and it NAILS that job. ... show more
