  • great addition to Street Guardian dash cam
Size: With Mini ATO Low Profile Fuse Taps
I installed this in a 2018 Honda Clarity. I have to agree with another reviewer who said the PDF instructions are lacking, but there is so much generic information about these kind of installs available online that I didn't think it was worth deducting a star for. Once installed, it works great for providing power to the dash cam. The main reason for purchase was so I could use parking mode, but I also really like that now all the wires are hidden completely. The kit comes with fuse taps, allowing you to add the dash cam and its fuses into currently occupied fuses. Make sure to get the kit with the right kind of fuses! The Clarity happens to have a few unused fuse spots and somebody else did the work of figuring out which of the empties were ACC/always on/etc, so I didn't need to tap an existing fuse. Chances are if you search the internet you'll find out somebody has done this for your car too, otherwise you can use a circuit tester yourself, it isn't hard. That ended up making it a little more complicated, not less, since I wasn't sure if I could use the fuse tap with only one fuse in it. Fortunately the internet was full of help, so I was able to determine that the fuse supplied in this kit should go in the top (exterior) location on the fuse tap, and the bottom location should be left empty. I used the C02 fuse spot for the ACC fuse tap and the C18 for the battery/always-on. It works perfectly. ... show more

  • Great Parking Mode Addition... If You Know What You're Doing
Size: With Mini ATO Fuse Taps
I bought these cables in conjunction with my Street Guardian Pro camera. They work as described, so instead of a review, I'll go over what I did. I did plenty of research beforehand, as, even though I had some electrical knowledge and experience, my knowledge of car fuses was limited. Here's a brief summary of what you should do before purchasing this device. 1. Identify what type of fuse tap size you have in your car. I accidentally bought the Micro instead of the Minis, so double check your fuse tap size. That said, the Mini fuse tap package came with Micros, so that could be a good way of preventing a mistake, but YMMV. 2. Identify the fuses you want to tap into. You will need to tap two fuses, one which is on when the car is parked and turned off (AAC) and one in which the car is turned on (BATT). One way to test this is use a multimeter or voltage tester and determine if a current is running through the fuse on either setting. Or, get lucky as I did, and find a forum post or blog of someone who did the hard work for you and found the two fuses you need to tap for your car model/generation. 3. Find a ground point. For me, I found a screw point sticking out underneath the fuse box chassis. So I bought a lugnut and washer and tightly sandwiched the ground point in between the two. 4. Determine where you will run the cabling from your instrument panel fuse box to the dash cam. After you do these four steps, installation should be a breeze. Hope this helped! ... show more

  • No more dead batteries
Size: Complete Kit
The media could not be loaded. I kept forgetting to unplug the lighter plug, and the camera would drain my truck battery. It requires an extremely minor amount of fuse know how, which can be obtained by watching a couple of YouTube clips. You've just got to find the right fuse source and size. It took maybe 5 minutes to run the wiring for my Sierra, and another 10 minutes deciding what fuses I wanted to use. I could hear it turn off and on, so I was assuming it was registering the power on and off correctly. I no longer come back to find a dead battery either. 11/11/19 edit - I pulled my sd card to see if parking mode was working as intended, and it is. I've got more files of parking lot footage than I can shake a stick at. Going off couple weeks memory, I think I set it up for 5 frames per second and I can't remember, maybe 12 hours? Anywho, I get a 2 minute clip of about 10 minutes of parking mode per file. I uploaded a partial of one. ... show more

  • Fun ,Security and Safey for all
Size: With Mini ATO Fuse Taps
What is there to dislike ? Although anything can be and will be improved over time but this StreetGuardian Dash cam is well designed for the times. The quality and automated functioning of this Dash Camera is Unser past in my opinion. The customer service is something everyone could wish for, This company literally bends over backwards to satisfy its customers, no kidding. Would I recommend this Dash Camera to others? Absolutely ! The cost of this Camera and options are very affordable I might add. No questions on returns or replacement parts or the Camera itself . I know because I have needed some instruction and advice to learn the best setup and operation of this Camera . I installed a front and rear StreetGaurdian combo on my pickup truck. The play back in HD is great ,The GPS is cool too. So in summery I would not hesitate to recommend this Model Dash Came to anyone. And NO I do not work for them or was told what to say. • Enables Parking Mode on the SG9663DC Dash Cam
Size: With Micro 2 Fuse Taps
This dookickey is what you need if you want to enable parking mode on your SG9663DC dash cam. It replaces the power adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter plug. It also enables a few other things, such as delayed shutdown. Installation was a breeze for me. Of course, I'm a geek; but if you have any experience at all with car wiring (or wiring in general), this should be an easy job. The hardest part is snaking the wires, and even that was no big deal on my little car. The device itself appears well-made and works properly. There is plenty of wire provided. I can't imagine there not being enough, at least not on any car I've ever owned. Make sure to order the one that matches the type of fuses your car has. Both the seller and the manufacturer are active on the Dash Cam Talk forum and can provide help if you run into any problems (although I doubt that you will). Richard ... show more

  • Great Addition to the SG9663DCPRO
Size: With ATO Fuse Taps
Great addition to the SG9663DCPRO. Should have been included with the purchase in my opinion, but oh well. FYI, these come with very vague instructions. There’s actually no physical instructions included, there is an online manual (very vague) only. I had to look up vids on YouTube on how to properly install (I was not familiar with hardwiring anything to a car before this). It’s really easy though once you watch some vids. I subtracted a star for lack of proper instructions/installation manual. ... show more
