I have a lot of older Streamlights that don’t have LED’s in them. I have upgraded a couple, but the cost is pretty similar to buying a newer model, middle of the road light like this. I purchased one a couple of years ago to mount on a shotgun and liked it a lot. I liked it enough to get one for my wife as backup light, and I’m pretty happy with it for the price. The beam is bright and the light is built to take a beating. It’s kind of a right in the middle light as far as size/ usefulness goes. If I was going to carry it on a duty belt, I would probably get something slightly bigger and brighter, but it’s a little too big to clip in a pocket unless you wear BDU’s all the time. It does come with a clip that I don’t find to be very robust looking and it kind of irritates me. I removed it from the weapons mounted light and the backup light. Overall this is a good light for the price, it’s built to take a beating, easy to handle and throws a good amount of light. I would say it’s a good purse/ backpack light, weapons mounted light, bed stand light, etc. A little big for a pocket, maybe not big enough for a duty belt or car light, but that’s up to personal choice. ... show more

- Rugged. - I live on an acre and it has no problem (even on medium) providing enough light to illuminate the back yard. - Easy to use. - Programmable to one of 3 options. - Did I mention it's rugged. - Lightweight and can easily fit in a pocket. - Good value. - Good lumen choices on low, medium and high - Good for home, car or outdoors (camping etc) Buy a couple extra 18650 batteries and a charger and won't ever need annother flashlight. Slightly brighter than my old FURY 500 lumen light, and a bit more flexible. But doesn't feel quite as good as the older Aluminum light. The ability to use the Streamlight SL-B26 rechargeable battery is a plus (The SL-B26 is apparently a button top 18650 rechargeable battery with protection circuitry to prevent overcharging or catastrophic failures). The rechargeable battery is great for a flashlight used all the time, but will self discharge. For infrequent standby or emergency use, best to stick with the CR123A non-rechargeable batteries, with their much longer shelf life. ... show more

I got this because I did not want a tactical light that would be an aluminum frame. I like that the plastic helps to insulate the heat that is generated so it does not burn your hands. It is also very bright and fairly inexpensive. I do not like that the strobe feature requires a strange double click to function properly. I would have preferred to be able to just have an option to program the light so it would use strobe with the single click instead, but other then that its an amazing light. ... show more

I use this light at work (mobile forklift service technician). The light is sturdy and solid. The material feels similar to the grip on a Glock pistol. It is bright enough in low mode to cover most close-up situations and the high setting is definitely bright enough when you need to see at a distance. I wish it had a magnetic base to stick to metal surfaces. The belt clip can also be clipped to the brim of your hat which is nice but you obviously need to be wearing a hat to make use of this headlamp feature. The switch is recessed which helps prevent accidentally pressing it but also makes it a little harder to press. I originally didn’t like how I had to tap the light multiple times to get to the low setting and I have no use for the strobe feature. The directions didn’t explain this but I discovered you can program the light 3 different ways: high/strobe/low (default), high only and low/high. To change between the settings you quick press the light 9 times then hold the button the tenth time until the light shuts off. When you turn the light on again it will be in the next mode. Repeat the process until it’s in the mode you want. I keep mine in the low/high mode. Overall I really like the light especially because it has held up well to abuse. It still looks new due to the poly/plastic material instead of painted metal that would normally chip/peel off from grease, oil and solvents I work with. Great for industrial use. ... show more
