Use this for my patrol rifle, bright as hell. I don't like that when the pressure pad is used, the light and laser both come on, but I make it work. Love the fact it comes with a rechargeable battery, mounts and tools.

    • I would buy another in a heartbeat
I ended up purchasing an Amazon refurbished version of this for my shorter 5.56mm. That was not my best move. I apparently neglected to look at the dimensions of the HL-X and just went ahead and purchased it. The refurbished price was $60-$70 less than a brand new one and I thought that was a good deal. When the HL-X arrived, the box wasn't in pristine condition, but I figured that was par for the course with a refurb. So it didn't bother me one bit. I decided that seeing as I had it in my hand, I would see how it fit on my shorter 5.56mm. So, if you remember me saying, I neglected to read the dimensions? Yeah, don't do what I did. It fits my shorter 5.56mm, but takes up the ENTIRE handguard. So, it looks like it'll have to go on my larger 5.56mm. Which, I intended to purchase a light for anyways. Just as a word of advice, read the dimensions to see if it will fit your weapon. Anyways, after realizing I should read the entire listing before assuming size,, I grabbed the battery and immediately attempted to charge it. The manual requests you charge it for 5 hours the first time. I did so, and the flashlight didn't work. I tried this multiple times but to no avail. I decided before sending it back, I would try new batteries. So I purchased a 2-pack of the Streamlight 18650 batteries and lo and behold, LET THERE BE LIGHT! The light is fantastically bright! If you choose to use this for home defense, unless you live in a celebrity mansion, this will light up nearly every corner of your house. My house has 3 rooms all on one line of sight and all 3 rooms were lit up as though all the lights were on. From my experience, the throw from the light should reach the distances on the box in clear weather. With how bright this is, if there's any fog or haze in the air, the throw will be cut down significantly due to reflection. This is the first weapon light I've purchase and I'm damn glad I got this one. Even for the full price, it absolutely is worth it. The additional pressure switch and mount really put it over the top. If this light ever dies, I will buy another in a heartbeat. ... show more

    • Solid flashlight with questionable pressure pad
The Pros: - Excellent build quality on the flashlight - Very bright - USB Rechargable battery - Different end caps for different uses - Inclusion of pressure pad and mounting accessories The Cons: - The pressure pad mounting solution on an MLOK hanguard makes for a bulky and cumbersome arrangement - Pressure pad should be MLOK-compatible out of the box; this can be done by enlarging the holes for the screws it came with and including MLOK hardware in the package. My original install made for a very bulky arrangement. I moved the pressure pad to the top of the handguard and used the included 3M VHB strip to adhere it but also didn't like it - 3M tape tends to lose its adhesive properties after a time and I wanted something that felt permanent. Rather than fork out another $72 for a Cloud Defensive adapter, I took a different approach. The pressure pad has two holes front/back for some small screws. I enlarged those holes to the same diameter as MLOK screws. I removed the 3M strip (it came off in one piece) and using the rest of my MLOK hardware, I affixed the pressure pad to the top of the handguard. It isn't going anywhere now. It won't come off unless it breaks. The only thing I haven't done (yet) is tie up the cable because I'm waiting for an offset light mount. ... show more

Very easy to install and the white light is very bright. The red dot is easily visible as well. Adjusting the red dot is a bit tricky, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! If you turn the adjustment screws too far you can break it. It's very easy to have the light on temporarily or all the time. My only complaint is that you don't seem to be able to toggle the red dot on separately. They are either both on or both off. ... show more

I bought one a few years ago. No idea how many I have now… at least 8. It’s my go to for a long gun weapon light. The laser is crisp and it has great light coverage. I run it with rechargeable batteries and absolutely love it.

This laser light combination is excellent, but just a little heavy. The white light is very bright and laser pointer appears almost on target for typical rails . I bought 3 to replace my Streamlight TLR 2's I prefer to use the rear activation switches , I never trust a extension cable and pressure switch ... show more

It is huge compare with other models without laser. Pics do now show the size difference we’ll. It completely covers 4 full picatinny slots and the thickness is very close to an average size handguard.. But hey it is bright, good throw and comes with the USB 18650 rechargeable battery. The pressure switch is also bigger in size compare with other mon laser models. Which I actually like. ... show more
