Its durable, cushion construction is designed to protect your spine and soften hard surfaces. This professional-quality mat features closed-cell foam construction that withstands repeated use and can be easily rolled up, making it a great option for multi-use facilities. Features a smooth surface for ease of movement. CARE & CLEANING: Store in a dry location way from direct sunlight, Do not store anything on top of the mat as it may cause permanent indentations, Do not apply adhesive tape to the surface, Keep away from direct heat, Never use corrosive cleaning products on mat, Be sure mat is dry before rolling up for storage. If necessary, clean using: METHOD 1 - Fill a spray bottle with water and add 20-30 drops of tea tree oil. Spray the mat and wipe with a clean cloth. Let it air dry unrolled. METHOD 2 - Wipe the mat with cloth dipped in soap suds or laundry power solution. Rinse with water and wipe dry with towel or cloth. Questions or concerns? I practice yoga regularly and have a top of the line yoga mat. I can't emphasize this enough - don't use a yoga mat for Pilates! The Stott Pilates mat is exceptional quality and promotes proper alignment and form while doing Pilates. If you use a yoga mat your back will hurt badly while doing leg lifts during Pilates. You are also on your knees a lot. Yoga mats or less expensive Pilates matts won't save your back or knees from unnecessary pressure points. This mat is also very durable and easy to wipe clean. Not slippery at all. With so many mats online it can be difficult to choose among them. This mat is worth every dollar. After using a few different mats, I took a chance on this one. My biggest worries: too thin/not comfortable, and the awful chemical smell that most of these have. Often it feels as if you entered a chemical factory--especially bad if doing yoga with your face right on the mat. GOOD NEWS: this mat had no smell. Can use it out of the bag. Worth buying. If you are doing more advanced Pilates on a hard floor then this is a wonderful mat!! I wish it wasn't so expensive. I tried the much thinner (much less expensive) Merrithew Eco mat but this one is just much better for Pilates. I can't speak to durability because I haven't had it too long, but I'm impressed that the cushioning is firm yet not too squishy like some cheap mats. Also it doesn't stretch as you move like other cheap thick mats do. So I wish it was cheaper, but I think you get what you pay for here. It feels like the mats in professional Pilates studios. So far feels like a huge improvement for my Pilates practice, which I love doing daily. ... show more

I’ve had lots of mats to go with all the different exercise programs I’ve been into at one time or another. I recently got into Pilates and I was using my Lululemon yoga mat- which I do not recommend for Pilates! I really hurt my tailbone and it was rubbed raw. I received the version of this that had the Merrithew Logo, not the one with the Stott Logo. I understand the are the same company but it can be confusing to receive a product that looks different than the images. I have to assume the mats are identical otherwise...
