    • Good Product, but inspect package immediately upon arrival.
I received my pads a month ago, and wanted to test them before writing my review. My package arrived with the pads, and 2 tiedown ropes as well as the storage bag, but was missing the hood tiedown straps. (I was not concerned over this as I have tie downs attached to my truck. I am still docking them a star for the error.) The pads seem well constructed, and have held up to my limited use. Installing them is easy enough, though I wish I had 3 for my truck as I have a ARB bed cap when hauling long pieces of lumber, or my canoe. In addition to the straps that are part of the pad, you WILL want to include front and rear tie downs to keep your load from shifting on hills, acceleration, or braking. I was pleased that, unlike many items, these fit easily back into the storage bag it came with. (So many items do not fit unless squeezed down, I was pleasantly surprised) ... show more

I use these for short trips to my local kayak spot. They go on/off easily. So far no problem using them, the rack and the kayak stay secure. As other reviews said, it will let water in the vehicle if left on in the rain.

You can't leave these on your car in rain they will drop water down the straps and drip into your car....my seats were soaked first rainstorm .....

    • Too cheap to work
The ropes and carabiners that secure the front and back of a kayak are completely worthless. The first time I mounted a kayak with this kit, the ropes had too much elasticity to them and both carabiners were so cheap that they both bent open. The pads seem ok but literally nothing else in this kit will get the job done. Unfortunately I bought it in late fall and didn't test it out until spring - so not able to return it. ... show more

I like the ease of it. Use it to carry my kayak. Just be aware if your using it and purring the straps through your vehicles doors you are breaking the seal, so if you get caught in the rain it will leak into your car.

This set up works very well. I ran my kayak to 75 mph and it was very stable. Each pad/rail has (2) 8ft straps permanently attached to it. One strap holds the rail to the roof and the other holds the load. The 2 straps connect to each other. The result is a very secure load.
