Stiebel Eltron SHC series mini-tank electric water heater is ideal for office buildings, stores, malls, warehouses, food trucks, restaurants, gas stations, schools, hotels/motels, commercial, industrial and institutional. residential: bathroom sinks, kitchen sinks, rvs, cabins/cottages, low flow showers and laundry areas. An SHC mini-tank frees up precious space while providing plenty of hot water for hand washing or kitchen applications. Plumbed with cold water and used as a stand-alone supply of hot water, or plumbed with hot water from a remote tank to minimize delays, an SHC always delivers hot water when needed. By put - ting hot water right where it is used, pipe runs are minimized and water and energy use reduced. The smaller tank coupled with superb insulation reduces stand-by losses especially when compared with larger tank-type water heaters. With its flat back and included bracket an SHC easily mounts right under or near the sink. Once filled with water it simply plugs into a 120 V outlet. With only an 11 amp current draw, no special wiring is required. Lightweight and compact, the SHC saves space, quickly provides hot water right where it is needed. Certified to ANSI/UL Std. 174 Conforms to CAN/CSA Std. 22.2 No. 110. Tested and certified by WQA against NSF/ANSI 372 for lead free compliance. ISO 9001 certified. This is my second Stiebel water heater. Always worked for the seven years for the first one. Hope this lasts as long. Also not difficult to install. Just connect and flush. Mine is connected to two sinks for me and my wife. Great to have instant hot water first thing in the morning.

Our home is equipped with a tankless water heater, and it never really bothered me having to run the hot water at the kitchen sink for around a minute before hot water was available. Things changed when we had a baby and were constantly washing bottles. The delay in getting hot water when washing a dozen bottles a day got annoying quickly. I started looking at under sink water heaters, but the way our plumbing was run took up a lot of real estate in the cabinet and many of the 4-gallon options just would not fit. The Stiebel Eltron water heater was a perfect fit. The 4 gallon capacity is nearly perfect for kitchen use paired with a tankless main water heater. You get instant hot water for about a minute, then it cools to warm for another minute before the hot water from the main heater is supplied. It was easy to install for a plumbing novice and works well, so far.     • Effective Point-Of-Use Water Heater
An excellent product. Easy to install. Existing reviews cover all important considerations. I will underscore two: 1. The T/P release valve on this unit must be connected properly to adequate drain. It is not enough to route it to a bucket. 2. It is impossible to replace the anode in an enclosed space. Replacements are hard to find; they are expensive; and you will almost certainly have to uninstall the water heater entirely to replace the anode. ... show more

    • Should have bought this years ago.
I have a rather large home and the house hot water heater is on the opposite side of the kitchen sink. It takes about a minute or more to get hot water. Since installing this 4 gallon unit, I get hot water within 3 seconds. The 4 gallons is the perfect size. By the time the 4 gallon tank runs out, I have the hot water from the home hot water heater coming in, so the water never gets cold. ... show more
