  • Nice replacement eyepiece
Got a used telescope over the holidays that was missing an eyepiece. Found this and figured to give it a try, since it was already setup with a threaded flange for future astrophotography hobby investigation. Comes in a sturdy cardboard box, with both ends covered. The eyepiece end has a set screw that has to be dialed out to remove the cover, while the tube end is merely friction fit. Optics look clear, and the machining on the threads is sharp. The tube itself has no nicks and feels solid, but not overly heavy in the hand . In all, a good option for a replacement on hobbiest level scopes - I don't suspect anyone really serious would be using this "barlow, humph" I can hear them say, but for us folks who just want an occasional night sky wander it fits the bill. ... show more

Admittedly, I’m very much a novice when it comes to telescopes, so I don’t think I can really discern whether or not an eyepiece or accessory is of good quality. At best, I could directly compare it to another one made by someone else and determine which one seemed to be better. I don’t have the option of doing that here. All I can say is that I’ve held some cheap, junky pieces before, and this certainly feels better in the hand and looks better. This feels like solid construction, and the lens was clear and did what I wanted it to do. ... show more
