  • It's Awesome!
Style: Step2 Skyward
Really hard to build... I'm not sure I'd recommend it if you can't get a couple strong men to make this happen. BUT... It's AWESOME. The kids LOVE it and as expected, a bunch of kids can play on it at the same time... Which is better than most play sets can boast... Almost makes me want a second... But it really is pretty expensive. So only one for me. Totally worth the price though because it's awesome. The kids especially love the upper middle play area. They love to sit in it and do all sorts of things. Also the top hole. They love peaking out of that and even trying to climb in through it... Very well loved and I strongly recommend it. SOOO much better than other play sets. ... show more

  • Fun backyard option Fun backyard option
Style: Step2 Skyward
Fun, different option for a backyard that isn’t a swing set. We bought this for our boys who love all the climbing things at the park. Now they can climb and get energy out at home. It is pretty tall, I’m 5’7 and it goes over my head. Putting it together took some time but it was fairly easy. We did have a hard time getting a couple parts to line up. Overall, it is pretty sturdy, both my kids play on it at the same time. We did not secure it to the ground because we have it on the grass and we like that we can move it around to water or mow. ... show more

  • Active Play for Everyone!
Style: Step2 Skyward
We love this! My husband was able to put it together easily in just about 2 hours (with the help of our 3 year old). He said everything was very straight-forward and it went together quickly and as expected. He was also able to lift it himself and carry it from our driveway, where he built it, to the middle of the back yard. We have had 3 grown men and a preschooler on it at once. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but it did hold them. It is hollow plastic and much lighter than I expected, but it is very sturdy and I do not worry about my son and his friends climbing all together. Our son is 3 and has spent countless hours climbing up and down to get the flag at the top and then replace it. He shows a pretty big preference for climbing on one side of it because he is most familiar with that side and where to put his feet to climb back down. We actually like this because that means there is plenty of room for him to grow into it and learn to climb in other ways. It is a lot of fun for a small group of kids to climb together and works really well for a wide range of children. I think children from crawling age through middle school would show interest because of the multi-level play. We have had a crawler climbing in and out of the lower part while a few others climbed and it was great fun! My husband and his adult brother had a ball on it as well! ** Quick update: My son is now 8 and we have 3 more children. This has been outside in our Pennsylvania weather for 5 years. Our 4 children and their friends still use it very often and it is the first thing they run to when they get off the school bus in nice weather. It has shown no evidence of wear or fading and still looks just as it did when we bought it. Other parents often say they love it and want one too and several have purchased their own. This gets just as much use as the swing set if not a little more. Very happy with this purchase and I feel confident it will resell well when we're finished with it. **Update #2 (Spring 2022) Still going strong! My son is now 11.5 years old. He is 5 feet tall and about 100 lbs and he and his friends still love to play on and around this! My 3 girls (8, 6, and 4) love it too! It doesn’t appear to be faded and everything is holding up great! It serves as a base for laser tag and a reading nook among other things. I should also mention that we live at the top of a hill and it is very very windy here at times. The wind has never moved this. I honestly think this is the very best play related investment we have made. It has moved with us twice and been through 8(?) Pennsylvania summer and winters with us. I’ve never found a wasp nest on it and it still wows all the guests. Highly recommend! Update #3 (Spring 2025 😳) This thing is the best investment we’ve ever made in a toy! My son finally stopped playing with this at about 13 BUT he and his friends still hang out on it when there is a group of them out there. My daughters are still using it at 7, 9, and 11. Still no fading, cracks, broken webbing. It literally looks like we just got it. ... show more

  • Instructions are the worst, but overall worth it Instructions are the worst, but overall worth it
Style: Step2 Skyward
I bought this for the playground we are putting together for our grandkids ranging from infants to 7. After reading some of the reviews I was worried if it was gonna be worth it or not. It is expensive for sure, but I feel like most outdoor toys are. My grandkids were excited when I showed them pics, so I figured we would give it a try. It shipped fast. And after seeing it put together I feel pretty happy with it and think the kids are going to love it!! That being said, I read the reviews about the instructions and kinda shrugged it off. I'm really good at putting stuff together and honestly figured people were exaggerating to some degree, but I was so wrong!!!! I have assembled a wide variety of things from cribs, toys, chicken coops, floor scrubber, furniture and more. Id even go so far as to say that there isn't much I couldn't assemble. I'm a 48 year old woman and I am the assembler in our house, my husband jokes that he is the emotional support when I have a project to put together. Hands down, these might be the WORST instructions I've ever seen!!!!!! I still managed to assemble the entire thing by myself with 0 help, but if the instructions had been clear I could have done it in half the time!!! My advice, slow down and play every move out in your head before you do anything, lol!!! It's definitely a doable project, like i said, I'm a 48 year old woman and I did it alone, but there were a lot of bad words being said!!!! Also, you will more than likely need a ladder and they don't mention that! In the end I think it's worth the money, and I'm excited for my grandkids to play on it, but the instructions are seriously lacking! ... show more

  • Great. Worth the money!
Style: Step2 Skyward
tl;dr: perfect for our 3 year old despite her being a little on the small and puny side. Popular for kids ages 4-8 that come over. Multi use (fort, climbing wall, hang out). Took a while to assemble but seems high quality. Lighter - my husband can move it around the yard by himself. Got this for our 3 year old daughter. She is average in Terms of physical prowess - maybe even a bit puny- so I was worried she would need to grow into it because it’s technically for older kids. SHE LOVES IT. Not only does she climb it with her friends and cousins, the bottom part she uses as her little cave. Her and the kids also love the middle part where you can just hang out. When we first got it, our daughter was afraid to try and climb. We guided her but encouraged and borderline forced her to figure things out on her own if she got stuck. Within 2 weeks of semi-regular play, she got the hang of it and is able to climb to the top even though she is almost too short to go from the rope part to the boulder part. This is all just to say that I’m so impressed with the Boulder and how it encourages kids to keep active and problem solve. It’s a real confidence builder too. There have been days where she is super into it and other days where she doesnt even look twice at it but it’s stull worth the money. Every time we have kids over, it ends up being popular and they figure out a new way to make up games for it. It’s lighter that I imagined but sturdy. My 170 pound husband will hang on it and purposefully try to tip it but it won’t budge ... show more

  • Give yourself plenty of time and a helper to build
Style: Step2 Skyward
My husband and I got it built in around 4 hours. Recommend separating all the bolt sets out and having them all ready to go ahead of time. The nets were the most annoying, but we were able to get it all done. We bought for our toddler to grow into. He's a huge climber of everything, so we figured this would be perfect for him as he grows. Its looks fun and I think its a good investment... if it holds up for years. ... show more
