  • Great for Quality Garments / Full Control Over Steam / Truly Compact
Color: White
The media could not be loaded. My girlfriend was in the market for a quality steamer, as she has some upscale garments that would benefit. We wanted to get a higher quality version due to poor experiences with cheap versions in the past. Also, ideally one that would be conducive to traveling. This one fit the bill and was recommended by a friend who is a laundry professional, so we gave it a try. Size and Startup This steamer is a compact size compared to the cheaper versions that are out there -- not tiny, but not overly bulky. Length is about 10 inches, with a width of 5 inches for the head of the steamer, which is an idea size for garment coverage when in use. The power cable is made of durable material and is a helpful 8 feet long, allowing you plenty of length and space to steam from any outlet. Material The steamer is comprised of a hard, durable exterior which is a matte plastic composite, while the steamer head plate is made of stainless steel. The water tank is small and detachable (and connects magnetically), so easy to empty between uses to help reduce mineral buildup. This also helps with effortless cleaning, which may be needed over time. Overall, the unit is solid and durable, and very aesthetically pleasing. Performance The steamer is easy to hold and fires up quickly with the push of a button, with steam typically available within 10-20 seconds; it seems that the steam comes quickest when the reservoir is full. It's the fastest start up to any steamer we've ever used. The steam itself is controlled with the push of a button, so you have full control on when you want to release steam onto your garment (rather than having the steam come continuously). Additionally, the included mitt is of high quality and actually quite useful, which is not always the case when mitts are included. Undoubtedly, the quality mitt is factored into the premium price, but we've been using it regularly. Cleanup / Storage As noted, the reservoir is easy to remove, so you can fully empty it after each use to help prevent mineral buildup, especially if you are using tap water. The unit does note that it has built in limescale traps, although that's harder to see/test -- and ideally won't be needed with proper care. Overall, this unit is definitely on the upscale side and ideal for garments that require extra care. If you have high-end garments that benefit from steaming, this may be a good option to consider. If you are just steaming general, casual garments, this unit may be overkill. But if looking for a high quality steamer that gives you full control of the steam flow, this one certainly met our expectations and would recommend to others with similar needs. ... show more

  • Good Handheld Steamer
Color: White
This steamer uses a standard plug and has a nice long cord for it. The weight of the steamer has a somewhat bulky feel to it, but I guess it should since it has a high temp water heater in it. The water reservoir is in the handle and does not seem to hold a lot of water, but I was able to do what I needed with it that I will explain in a minute. As far as the heater or at least when the unit says it is ready, it only took a few seconds. I started steaming a wrinkled shirt that I had. Initially I was having issues with some dripping water from the steamer, but I think that was operator error. Once I got the hang of it, it started to remove the wrinkles decently. After I finished working on the wrinkles in my shirt, which was a standard t-shirt I had noticed that I used about 1/3 of the water in the little reservoir. That's really not that bad in my opinion. It comes with a heat pad also that you can put on your hand and hold behind the fabric that you are steaming to help hold it steady and press against it. It works but can be kind of awkward also, especially for those of us not real experienced with doing that process. One interesting little design is with the water reservoir. I initially couldn't figure out how it comes off to be filled, but it's simply a strong set of magnets. That was neat. The button to do the actual steaming is a push to press button. There is no switch or way to lock it on for a minute. You have to use finger strength to hold it down. If you have weak fingers, you'll feel the pressure of holding the button down a bit tiring. The instruction manual comes in a huge list of languages, but the actual instructions themself are quite brief. They have a vid you can scan for more info, but if you are just going to figure it out from the book, it will be minimal. I do wish it came with a stand or something. It just seems odd to be setting it down wherever and wondering if it is going to drip water out from the steam vents. It would also be nice if it came with some sort of basic case to store it in when not being used. Overall, I do recommend it. Keep in mind it does take some practice to lerarn how to use it correctly. It won't just take wrinkles out by you passing this wand in front of it. You have to mess with it to figure out some techniques. But it will do the job. ... show more

  • Expensive for what you get
Color: Purpule
I got this steamer as a replacement to one I’ve owned for 12 years where the protective pads are wearing down. While it works and is easy to use, I don’t get why it’s so expensive. The water tank is quite small. I like that it’s removable so it’s easy to fill. However, my old steamer stood up while this one lays down. I worry about water leaking that way. It heats up quickly but I don’t love that you have to hold the steamer button down continuously in order to get steam out. I do like the iron surface but it spits water on your clothes when you get too close. My old one did that too which can be kind of annoying. So while it gets the wrinkles out, there is nothing super special about this one in comparison to others though it is definitely pricier than other options.. ... show more
