I am giving this all 5 stars right after I installed it. I really hope this lasts because I really like the results and it was easy to install. I've included the step by step progress as I was installing this. Let me first say that this is located in a VERY high spot in the dining room area. I am a very petite lady doing this task alone so the hardest part is transforming my little body into a tall octopus. I love the light this window allows through but as summer quickly approaches so was the heat coming through that window. I knew I needed to do something about it. After a lot of reading of reviews, I settled on this one since the 35.4 Inch X 6.5 Feet size matched perfect to this window. I also watched a lot of Youtube videos and found that the secret to an easy install is using a lot of soapy water. This kit comes with a doll size water bottle and squeegee which are a waste of time. Get a large spray bottle and make up your soapy solution. I also used an old gift card to get the bubbles out and stick it down. To help myself with needing extra hands I used painter's tape to tack it to the wall and I got to removing the protective sheet. At first, I was very gentle removing it, then out of frustration I just went to town and pulled the protected layer off the entire sheet. I'm glad I did because it was very durable as I tacked it and sprayed it with the soapy solutions...window, front, and back...GO CRAZY!!! It was very easy to stick it to the glass. I used a expo knife and cut the excess off so I can position it better. Then I went to completing the detailed trimming. This tint is clean, durable, and thick, and I felt the immediate result of the heat and light being filtered. It is also a great option for this type of window since the shape is difficult to work with. As you look out the window, it looks like a cloudy day, not so bright and when you look in from outside it's silver reflects the clouds floating by.

The STATINT window film is of great quality, thick and durable material and very easy to apply. An instruction poster and a small water spray bottle were included. Clean well your windows with window cleaner, rinse out with water and you are ready to start. You will need lots of water for the installation, as both the glass and the film backing need to be thoroughly wet. Apply some more water to squeezee the bubbles out. You will need a silicone squeegee or similar tool and a single edge shaving blade which are not included. It is a simple installation that requires little time and effort and will provide protection from UV and sunlight indoor damage, not to mention the added cooling effect and privacy it provides to your interiors.

This is super easy! The price is very good for the great quality. The film reflects from outside and looks excellent. No issues with the installation. Clean window with soap and water, dry using a clean no lint cloth, spray with water, line up edges, press out water with squeegee or a card (like a credit card), trim off excess. Order enough, you will end up making all the windows you can once you see how good this looks Cut to fit oversized before applying. The film itself is very durable and smooth. Being static cling is great because you can easily remove it if necessary. It does hold very well to window without peeling. I am already ordering more. Infact I am right now ordering my fourth!

To reduce expenses and to help protect the environment, in early 2021 our household started taking a number of measures to cut our energy consumption. Those measures have proven successful: total 2021 electricity consumption in our single-family, detached home in the US SE was about 8,000 kWh (3,200 of which was for AC), compared to about 11,000 kWh annual average in previous years. [UPDATE on 1/1/23: our total electricity consumption in 2022 dropped even further to just 5,500 kWh (1,600 of which was for HVAC) for the year. We have HALVED our electricity consumption. Huge savings. This window film continues to hold up beautifully despite exceptional temperature variations this past year; it has withstood a harsh stress test.] Applying this Statint window film has been part of our strategy. We tested the idea by applying the film only on our bathroom windows (actually, on the storm windows) several months ago. We are pleased, so much so that we have just reordered the film to apply it to other windows, placing priority on those windows that a) receive considerable direct sunshine here in the hot SE of the USA or b) can be looked into by neighbors or from the street. We have found that this window film safeguards our privacy nicely when the light outside is brighter than the light inside. If we want privacy when it’s dark out, we just close the curtains. We have also discovered that the film significantly reduces the amount of bright light shining through the windows, giving the rooms a softer, more cool-colored feeling. Some members of our household, keen to maintain as much natural light as possible, have vetoed the idea of having the film applied on the windows of their rooms. Another benefit of the film is that it can protect against the shattering of the glass in the event of, for example, a ball flying into it, a thief trying to break through it and get in, an extreme weather event … or a war – I saw on TV the other day a man applying film to his windows in the Ukraine. When it comes to applying this film, here are some lessons I learned: a) Be patient; take your time; think quality over quantity. There are some jobs around the house that can be done well with a mindset of speed and high energy; this isn’t one of them. To do this job well, a mindset of calm and of quality of work is called for. Approach this task when you have a good chunk of unhurried time available, then put on some music you enjoy and settle calmly into a useful task. b) Trial and (frustrating) error taught me to cut the film BEFORE applying it. I learned to carefully measure the windows, then cut the film with 1/8” to spare on all sides. This made it much easier to apply the film. True, we now have 1/8” of untinted window all the way around, but that’s barely noticeable, and the cut lines are clean. With this method, I don’t risk scratching the glass of the storm windows or cutting into their rubber edging. It’s also far less unwieldy. By cutting in advance, application becomes a very manageable one-person job. c) When preparing to cut the film, completely clear and clean the biggest table you have in your house. Do your cutting there. I really wish it was far more reflective. The pictures make it look like you won't see anything during the day. It's still not hard to see through. Installation was easy enough but sadly this isn't as heavily reflective as I'd expect to be labeled privacy one way film.
