  • Parallel Port
This add-on slot cover plate with DB25F connector is the right item to use with an Intel DH55HC or similiar mobo that does not have the usual parallel port connector in the I/O shield part of the connector bank in the rear. It plugs right into the IDC26 header on the motherboard, and while it does take up a slot card position, on some installations it doesn't matter, because the motherboard has only 6 slots. I placed mine using an Intel DH55HC motherboard at the bottom slot position of the case, leaving all my motherboard PCI, PCI-e, and PCI-e 2.0 slots available for add-on cards to install later. This makes it easy to add a parallel printer or other device to your system using this this StarTech slot plate. Highly recommend this and some others like it from different mfrs. on newer motherboard/case installations that don't have the usual parallel port installed. ... show more

  • Still have an old parallel printer? This you need!
I used this to add a parallel port to a ASRock B75M-DGS. Most motherboards you can purchase nowadays do not have the parallel ports for printers. This is not good if you have a perfectly working printer that you want to use with a newer computer. This solves that problem as long as the motherboard you get has the header pins that this addon will be connected to. ... show more

  • Parallel if header and older printer
If your motherboard has the header for a parallel port, this is much cheaper than buying a parallel port pci card, and works just as well. if you have a usb printer you will not need this (of course), but if you want to hook up an old dot matrix or inkjet this may be worthwhile.

  • Paralled Port anyone ?
I upgraded my office PC (E-Bay used MB) .. nice, X6 AMD, Win 7 X64 and 8Gb memory.. then I try to plug in my ancient HP 1100 printer.. No parallel port. I had the connector on the MB.. just no plug.. This fit the bill. Can't kill a HP printer, 13K prints and still running.

  • A Printer Port cable you can place by length of the cable.
A item which lets you put a Parallel Print Port,

  • Functional
Build quality seems good, cable was long enough. I needed a parallel port to control a relay board, and while most modern motherboards include the parallel header, they don't like to waste the I/O port area space with the massive parallel port. Thankfully, this slot adapter is also dirt cheap.

  • Works great
Hooked the cable up to my MSI motherboard and HP Laserjet 2100 printer and everything works great. Showed up as LPT1. Just make sure to align the red wire with pin #1 (which is NOT the end with the missing pin on the motherboard)

  • Perfect for motherboards with an open LPT port that just need the connector
The only problem that I ran into was that the cable and motherboard didn't have any orientation marking so I plugged it in backwards, didn't work, reversed the connection, worked great!
