I don't write a lot of views, but I had to write one because of the quality of this office chair. I've tried two other brands of office chairs before I came across this one because either the padding foam in the leather was so little it went flat quickly or it was too short/narrow that I had little room to move. I'm 6'3, 179 pounds and I like to support my back from hunching or aching without feeling uncomfortable. What I like about this chair: -Has a lot of foam padding -Has a really tall back seat -It has a lot of stitching to keep and support strong for the leather from peeling and ripping -Has a nice small coating on the arm rests and the wheel legs which is nice cause most just have that bland plastic look to it -Looks really nice and feels like it's made good; oh, did I tell you it's made in Vietnam? - You can lean back and forth in it I've had this chair about 2 years and it's still going strong! The assembly and instructions was easy, but I recommend to had two people to help put it together for the back seat because it is a bit heavy to hold in place. It is bonded leather which means it will eventually one day start to peel and crack; however, bonded leather does have 10-20% of real leftover leather in it. For the price, you are paying more for the quality and longevity. What I like to do to make it last longer is use some leather cleaner/conditioner to keep it clean. Because overtime, leather tends to get dirty and if neglected, thats when it starts to peel, lift, crack, dry, fade or rot. The foam is still holding up good though it's has slightly flatten a tiny bit; not major, but that's normal for wear and tear. I don't know why others are saying bad views about the cylinder is bad or it goes out within 6 months, either it was just bad luck or unless you plop onto the chair hard all the time to shorten it's lifespan or play with the cylinder. I never had a issue with the cylinder going out fast. With personal preference, I'd probably buy this chair again because of it's comfort and how it's a good deal for the price. If you're not sure and want a better look, I recommend go to a nearby Staples store and try it out for yourself. If you can afford it and on a tight budget, this chair may be right for you! Best of luck! Edit: 11/17/23 Thought of adding a little update to the chair and adding some images. This really is a good chair and had no problems with it. I can be able sit in it without backache or discomfort. Don't let the other bad reviews scare you. You don't know how exactly they screwd the bolts into the chair if they were tighten or not. If they arent tight, the chair is bound to break! 🫠 I don't know what everyone else does with their chairs; sounds like they wrestle with it. I just sit in mine. 🤷 Just make sure to check the bolts overtime about every 1-2 months cause they may losen! ... show more

It came in 7 pieces (counting the wheels as 1 piece) and putting it all together took me longer than expected. I had to squeeze the arms together while screwing in the back part which was comical. I’d advise having a pal help you on that part. After I was done throwing tools out of anger, Immediately when I sat down I felt like it was worth the time I put in to build it. It felt sturdy and extremely comfortable. I’m 6’5” and the hight of the back is relatively decent. It hasn’t started squeaking yet but I’ll update the review if it does. I am 6 5” 270 lbs and this chair is perfect for me. With my height I don’t even have to use the raise feature on it, and the back comes up to the lower part of the back of my head. The only thing I wish it had was flip up arm rests. Otherwise this is an A+ Chair

I find this chair to be a great value. There are not a lot of options for big & tall office chairs anywhere near this price range. I originally looked at many of the higher end brands which are triple the price or more. I couldn’t see spending that much for very little difference in quality. Decided to give this one a try and am so glad I did. My husband is 6.5 feet tall and he loves it. Says the padding is the right amount of cushy and the depth of the seat is perfect.     • Bolt holding armrest broke after barely THREE MONTHS. Seller offers no help.

Super comfy chair (5/5 when it comes to that) with pieces of garbage holding it together, unfortunately. I've had this chair since October 1st 2024. I went on vacation from December 14th to January 14th, so this chair has basically only seen maybe two months of usage. After two days of use after my vacation, the arm bolt broke and the bolt fell out. Because of how this chair is built if any of the bolts become loose, the entire backrest is unusable and wonky. After reaching out to Staples on Amazon (the seller) they gave me an automated response saying that it's past the 1 month warranty (which is a pathetically short warranty for something like this) and that they couldn't help me. I followed up asking about any possibilities for a replacement bolt. Nope, they don't do that either. So I had to figure something out myself, luckily a family member had some screws and power tools and we were able to drill the broken bit out and find another screw to replace it. But I shouldn't be having to DIY fix a chair that isn't even half a year old. And please note, I'm super careful with my things. Sure, I'm a bigger guy (In the 260s, 6 ft tall) but it's not like I body slam this thing or anything. I don't even lean on the side where it broke. The best office chair Ive ever owned this is my 5th one and its compfortable that Ive even fallen asleep in it and slept the night through in it a few times. I cant say enogh about this char if you need one buy it you wont be sad you did. Plus the MFG gives you a 5 year warrenty on it.

    • Incredibly difficult to assemble

I've assembled MANY office chairs over time and all were effortless to assemble with just one person. This one took me about an hour and a half. The assembly problem was due to, I believe, seat padding protruding from the sides of the seat beyond where it should have been. That caused the chair arms to skew badly outward when attached, even when the bolts were not fully tightened. That made the bolts for the back of the chair nearly impossible to install. I finally got them installed after much very strong forcing of parts and loosening of bolts far looser than should have been necessary. On comfort, I much prefer my previous Staples chair bought at a Staples store years ago, but that is probably because this one forces better posture which is less comfortable to me. Also, the pivot point for the reclining position makes it much more difficult to initiate a recline than with my previous chair even when spring loading is set for minimum. It's all about the pivot position, not the spring. Finally, the chair is extremely heavy, much heavier than my previous, excellent Staples big and tall managers chair which makes it significantly more difficult to position on a carpeted floor either while sitting in it or even when it's unoccupied. ... show more
