I love to camp, either with my tent, or tarp. I used this tarp a couple of weeks ago just to practice using it, and in what configuration I wanted to set it up. I normally prefer winter camping. But I wanted a practice run using this tarp. Absolutely perfect. I can't wait until winter comes in so I can see how well it will perform. But I'm more then sure it will work out well. This is the 9x7, I also have the larger 10x12 one. I like the ripstop material. They weigh next to nothing but are functional. I would buy them again. No issues when the wind picked up.

    • piece of junk. seam tore out on first use.

tried to use as a weather shelter on a camping trip. When attempting to tie the tarp up, a seam completely ripped out. Sewing was a disaster allowing the seam to tear. believe this piece of junk was made in China where it should ave stayed.

OK - I bought this from the Amazon Warehouse Store, advertised as "very good condition - cosmetic damage to the packaging" - here's what I think happened: the tarp was missing at least 3 grommets, so the original purchaser returned it. The Warehouse person grabbed their box cutter to open the box - and managed to cut through the carry bag mesh plus 3 layers of the tarp. I am a sailor and always have ripstop tape on hand, so was able to patch the slices on the tarp and sew up the sliced mesh carry bag. Was it worth saving $5 by buying from the warehouse? No - the grommet setter cost me $11. Whatever - it's mine now, but I feel its condition was grossly understated by the Amazon Warehouse I still gave it 4 stars because even though it clearly left the factory with grommets missing, the fabric is nice; and the whole thing folds into a small drawstring bag. I want to use it for a shade awning off the side of our small truck camper, so I appreciate its compactness and light weight. ... show more

I use it for a cover over my balcony to block the sun and the rain after buying so many blue tarps I decided that I needed something a little bit more heavy duty this is absolutely by far the best tarp I've ever bought I will buy a few more for camping and to keep things dry I highly recommend this you will not be disappointed ... show more

    • Not Such a Good Tarp-- You Get What You Pay For

This is not the best tarp I've purchased. It has several poorly installed grommets. One grommet pulled out completely after the first use. In other places, where a hole for a grommet was punched, the fabric was not removed, so a flap of the fabric is hanging next to the grommet and looks sloppy. On one edge of the tarp, a mysterious line of holes is apparent, as if the fabric was reworked into the tarp I got. I didn't return it because I have the right size grommets to fix the bad one, and I had always planned to add a couple more for a rain fly application I had in mind. We've hung this tarp up in very rainy and windy conditions, even some ice and snow. For the price we thought it wouldn't last long but it's been tremendous. Highly recommended. When this one breaks, should it ever, we will buy again. Used about 3 months so far.
