Description

The STANLEY FATMAX Autolock Tape has been designed to be compact, its ergonomic bi-material case provides increased grip and comfort for ease of use. The Autolock technology ensures the blade feeds out and stops the blade from retracting, whilst the blade can be retracted by simply pressing the button. The Mylar coated blade offers 10 times more resistance to abrasion and wear compared to a lacquered blade. The tape is highly precise to Class II accuracy and features a Tru-Zero end hook which moves to compensate for inside and outside measurements, providing an accurate reading.

This tape is a failure - impossible to take an accurate inside measure. The tape is marked in metric but the case is marked imperial... I went to take an inside measurement of a window and looked at the case to add the case's length and what do you know? I had to add "3-inches" to 165 cm! I concur with what several other reviewers have said. The re-wind mechanism is not very good - anything past a couple of meters & it just doesn't work. The lock mechanism is weak. It kinda works sometimes. I don't know what you call it but the marking that shows the depth of the tape itself used for measuring into corners being in inches when this is a metric tape is just not helpful at all - it shows me a lack of caring about producing a quality product. The little add-on end things are totally useless. They don't stow away the way that it shows - they fall out almost immediately & even when installed on the tape, they fall off very easily. Huge fail there. I bought a shorter & much cheaper tape at the same time & I find myself using it much more than this one. Is it a really bad product - no, not really. Is it a really good product - no, not at all. Is it worth what they want for it - no, not at all. Would I buy it again - no, I would not. Overall - I'm kinda disappointed with it. ... show more
