This is a pretty standard pool pump for a smaller above ground pool. Many lower end pool kits that you buy at a store do not include the pool pump, so, this is a nice little pump that keeps the overall purchase costs reasonable. It is gravity fed, so, it needs to be placed on the ground next to the pool to be more effective. I have been using it with a large water trough that we converted to use as a small pool and it is working well. It runs at a lower decibel, so, it isn't loud when switched on. It does not have a lot of weight to it, so, if you are looking for a good quality pump, this likely isn't the best option. However, it works well for what it is and was easy to assemble using the provided instructions. Works well for what it is....

This is a well-made pump and I think it's going to last a long time for us. It works well and I temporarily put a flow-meter inline with the outflow of the pump to check the flow rate and I got closer to 1000 gallons per hour than the promised 800 GPH so I'm pleased with the value this pump delivers. It's well built and the quality shows in the thick and durable housing. It fits perfectly with multiple size PVC piping into various pools and my size was a common one. In operation it's not loud at all, something that's important with an above ground pool where the filter and pump are so close to the pool, and the noise could really carry. I like this pump!

I really don't know when this type of stuff got so cheap, but it is amazing to me that a pump and filter is available at this price. I'm actually using this pump temporarily in a 15' fountain that I am rebuilding and the volume/pressure moving through it is more than adequate. The pump is quiet, the filter works just fine.
