First off, my mixer is a Kitchen Aid "Epicurean" I bought in about 1998. Its a lift/lower bowl. I checked the model number on the underside of the mixer and then used this seller's chart for the appropriate paddle. It fits perfectly. Its heavy. It mixes exactly as it should. Its came out of the dishwasher with zero changes. I do check my Kitchenaid bowl clearance from time to time because they do get out of whack with use. And you should too! (There's a dime test and its very easy to adjust the bowl clearance. Just do a quick internet search as there are many how-to videos.) This paddle is slightly more expensive than the coated ones, but I dont see having to replace this one like all the other ones. It definitely seems to be solid stainless. In the questions (type in "stainless") they have a video where they cut it open to show that it is not just coated. ... show more

I have had to replace this paddle for my kitchen aid several times in the last few years. I normally buy the white coated one, but decided to give the stainless a try, and I am very pleased! After several uses I can report that it works as intended...better than the original and is very easy to clean. It is SLIGHTLY longer than the original , so make sure to adjust your mixer.

This fits my 6qt professional lift bowl KP26M1X perfectly. It's really sturdy, smooth stainless with a mirror finish. I will say, at first it seemed too big and hit the bottom of the bowl, even after adjusting to the lowest setting. I actually started a return on it, but decided to try one last time to try and make it fit. I moved my set screw all the way in both directions a few times, and somehow that seemed to reset the bowl, and then the beater fit perfectly with a 1/4 turn back from the lowest setting. I purchased this beater to replace the original beater that came with my 2 year old KitchenAid mixer. The original was chipping and manufacturer would not replace it under warranty. I could Not be happier with this replacement. It is heavy stainless and is so easy to clean! I love that it can go in the dishwasher. Easy to attach. I was so happy with the quality and performance I decided to replace all of the original attachments with these stainless steel ones! The casting was poorly done. There was metal missing from the top of the casting. It was ground down and polished. It was ignored and should have been stopped by quality control. The beater flops around and impacts the mixing bowl due to poor fitment. It's flops only in one axis creating an elliptical wobble. ***The replacement fits better, not as well as the Kitchenaid one. The replacement is functional and otherwise well finished. Updated to four stars. The stainless steel looks to be a nice upgrade over the Kitchenaid one with a flaking white coating. ... show more

Our other coated paddle was starting to peel & the inside metal can leach into the food. This paddle is fantastic. Heavy weight & fits the K45 perfectly. Very easy to clean. I don't believe you can nick or scratch this, it's really well made. Well worth the price.
