I really wanted to like this rod, but it let me down. I’ve had it for under a year and only used it lightly for inshore fishing. The biggest fish I put on it were a few 20‑inch snook, and even then the rod always felt overly stiff for a medium‑heavy fast action. Unfortunately, it snapped about 14 inches from the tip during a routine fight. St. Croix does offer a warranty, but they charge a $60 fee for replacement, and honestly I don’t feel like paying extra for something that shouldn’t have failed this quickly. Great rod for the price. I use this to inshore saltwater fish for Fluke, Blues, and Stripers and this rod performs the same as something double the price. St. Croix is something I will definitely purchase more of in the future.

Great quality like all st croix products. Very sensitive. I use it both for casting and vertical jigging on the wrecks off the Virginia coast and for casting lures in lakes in Pennsylvania. I’d recommend.
