  • Great nesting boxes
My girls love these. Some still burrow and lay in the shavings but most of them use the box. I have 8 hens and they regularly use three of the four boxes. This would be plenty for even 20 or more hens. I put a silicone nesting pad in each one. You’ll have to cut it down to fit into these boxes. My daughter put shavings on top of the silicone and I think they like it because they naturally scratch and burrow to make their “nest”. Instructions were easy to follow and I put it together by myself. Additional note: When you put add-ons in the nest like the silicone pad and shavings, the eggs don’t roll down into the catch box. This is not a problem if you use the fake eggs in the very beginning and they learn not to peck at the eggs. ... show more

  • Freed up some space for a good price. Not as cheaply made as I was expecting.
The directions on putting it together were terrible. However, it seems to be of decent quality. I will say that getting the plastic bins pushed in was tight, but worked well once in. Took me and my son about 25 minutes to put it together ...after getting all the plastic wrap off. Does not come with tools. You need a screwdriver or screw gun and small crescent or pliers to hold back up (we just used our fingers for back up). Our birds went right to the new boxes and jumped right in. Due to the boxes being slanted to help with egg gathering, these are not ideal for hatching chicks. But for gathering, it is really nice. It is nice that the other birds cannot get on top due to the slick metal. ... show more

  • Plastic perch is slippery
Directions suck but installation was easy. The ONLY complaint I have is the plastic perch post is too slippery and difficult for the birds them out. I may try some grip tape for that. Made with good quality galvanized steel and painted roof is cute. This freed up SO much space in the coop! Coop training will be key as I’ve re-used my current shavings and have the same fake eggs in the new boxes. I can’t wait to replace the shavings with turf and see the rolling trays in action! ... show more

  • Very poor instructions for assembly

  • Excellent value
Works great. I’ve seen comments saying the boxes are too small but none of my chicks have an issue with them. (Or at least the ones they all choose to use). Used carpet remnants as a liner and eggs roll right out with zero issue. Sturdy construction and fairly easy to assemble. Only complaint would be the metal roosting bars but these are easily replaced with dowels from the lumbar store. ... show more

  • Fantastic product - very durable
We got these nesting boxes to stop a clumsy wannabe mama from crushing all the eggs every time she tried to sit on them... After reading reviews we decided to give these a try. I was a little hesitant about the size of the boxes being large enough for our larger breeds (marans, New Hampshire red, Delaware, and an oddly large Easter egger). We were also a little worried that since our girls were raised with an open nesting box that they might not take to these very quickly. Luckily we gave pretty smart hens and within 5 minutes of us installing them we had eggs in the nesting boxes. Since we got them we have only had two cracked eggs (both seem to be due to rolling into the bottom without enough bedding in the bottom to cushion them). These are easy to clean and keep our eggs safe. Our biggest girls all fit and still manage to somehow go two in at a time and sit on top of each other. We bought two sets of the 4 for our 18 hens. They only use the top set 😅 We are very glad for this product. Would definitely recommend ... show more

  • Great value for the price
Very strong and well built for the price better than the one that I purchased from a leading supply company for more money very pleased with the purchase. do you like the fact that I can have the eggs come out the rear so I don’t have to walk into my coop one of the very only ones on Amazon that can do that. ... show more

  • Back panel goes on at the same time as the roof and bottom bracket.
Directions have a lot to be desired. Back Panel does not fit correctly and must be installed in the beginning and not at the end. Otherwise, you have to disassemble the entire back support structure to put in the back panel. Perch on front is flimsy at best. Birds likely won't care however, lots of left over parts with no instructions as to where they go. Feeder and Water bottle are extremely small for four birds. ... show more
