    • Don't plug into a UPS
Ok. I thought this thing broke right away. It shut off and wouldn't turn back on, and other things on the same circuit were still on. I even took it apart to check the wiring and safety switch. Turns out, if you plug this into a UPS (uninterruptable power supply), even on the non-battery protected sockets, you can trip the UPS breaker from the high current. Furthermore, the stuff plugged into the battery outlets will keep working on battery so that you don't realize what an idiot you've been. After taking it apart, and seeing the tilt safety, I feel very confident in the safety of this heater. It is a sphere chamber with a ball bearing in it, and a switch at the bottom. If the ball does anywhere but toward the bottom, the power is disconnected, so if it tilts or tips over, it immedietly cuts power to the entire device.     • A fine heater but may have too many options for some
This heater produces fine heat. The lowest setting is 1000W which could be an issue for the cost conscious or those looking for a lower setting (usually 600W on models with low,medium,high). This one really only has medium (called low) and high. The heater oscillates which is helpful, but you can turn the oscillation feature on and off. There is a remote for those just too tired to get up, and a digital temperature reading. Everything is digital. It's a good heater but the drawback is that simplicity is not its strong point. Compared to models with simply 2 knobs, one for the fan setting and the other for the temperature, this one is rather involved. It's a trade-off. You will trade forego simplicity for the extra features. Once you get used to it, it is not so bad, but you do have to think a little bit each time you go to tell it to do something. Think older car radios with 2 knobs versus todays car radios with so many icons and buttons it can be intimdating. That's a pretty good analogy here. So, if you like things simpler or with a lower lowest setting this is probably not the one for you. However, if you like more bells and whistles so to speak this is not a bad choice. It does heat as well as any other space heaters I have owned. I cannot speak to longevity yet. Note: Out of the box this model does have a powerful smell (even before turned on), and the heater rattles as though something is broken inside when you handle it - but all of this is considered normal for this unit. ... show more

    • Good Heater At A Good Price
This is a good space heater at a good price. It sets up easily. It gives lots of control to keep the heat at my comfort level and the remote control means I do not have to stop what I am doing to go and adjust the heat. It feels like it is well-made.

    • Heats up really fast!
Although it heats up fast it seems to struggle in maintaining a proper temperature. for example if you set it to 75 degrees and when it reaches that point or above, it will blow normal air (heat is off) but it would continue to do so even when it drops below the temp threshold so I think it fails in activating the heat again leaving you with cold air flowing. Another really big issue with me is the fact that its tilt protection is sort of bad... I was able to tilt it or drop it to the side so much before the safety shut off even worked so beware of that... Please always turn it off if going away or if you have pets and you can't be near the heater enough to supervise that nothing will happen. ... show more

    • It Never Turns Off - Did the Rating drop?
This darn thing never turns off on its own. I must have missed that in the description or I'm doing something wrong. When or if it hits the set temperatures, the fan stays on. It Stay On All day! You have to turn it off manually then turn it back on again when it cools. This fan is just not efficient for me. I gave 2 stars because it warmed a bit, but no better than the cheapos in the stores. Also, it had much higher rating the night I ordered. Not sure how it dropped so low almost overnight. Will be returning. ... show more

    • PERFECT FOR LARGE BEDROOMS, SMALL BUT PUTS OUT A LOT OF HEAT
The media could not be loaded. I have baseboard heating in my townhouse and after doing some research I found out that baseboard heating is the least cost-effective method of heating your house. Which sucks because there's no way to change that. So I decided this year I was going to try a little experiment and get a bunch of electric heaters and not use the baseboard heating at all. I want to see if going with the electric heaters made a difference in my electric bill. I got this particular heater for my daughter's room it's quite a big room because both my 15-year-old daughter and 9-year-old daughter share it. I like the safety feature where if it gets knocked over it switches off because my daughters are messy and it does get tipped over. I also like that it covers a large amount of space. If they have their door open it not only Heats their bedroom but the hallway too. I do wish it had more than just the 12-hour timer function option I wish it had 3-hour and 6-hour options as well because it doesn't take 12 hours to warm up the room. Once it's warmed up it stays warm. I was a little confused when I tried to switch it off and it didn't switch off right away. I waited and then I realized about the 30-second switch feature. I'm not sure why they have that but it confused me at first but I figured it out. Overall though it's great, especially for big bedrooms and kids' bedrooms.
