Description

The Southland 212 cc Rear Tine Tiller is the perfect tool for any job from gardening and light tilling to hard groundbreaking work. The 10.3 ft. per lbs. 4-Stroke OHV engine is both powerful and efficient. The gear-drive system provides maximum fuel and engine efficiency, allowing the unit to run on less power input than when operated manually, and the gasoline-powered engine allows the user to till a large area in little time. This powerful tiller works to complete the job quickly and effectively while still being easy to maneuver. The 11 in. counter-rotating tines dig deep into the earth to remove weeds and allow for fresh soil to be upturned and the 13 in. heavy duty, pneumatic tires stabilize the tiller over rough terrain. This machine boasts an 18 in. tilling width which allows the tiller to cover a large amount of space in 1 pass while still being easy to maneuver and capable of making sharp turns. This tiller makes easy work of any garden or groundbreaking project.

This tiler is well built and assembly was very easy. I like the free wheeling configuration as it helps transporting the tiler from one garden to another and then back to the storage shed. Forward and reverse configurations work well with no hesitation. The control arms could be mounted a little better as the reverse lever is starting to twist a bit but not to where it is a problem. The engine starts easily and provids more than enough power to handle the jobs it put it through. I tile three gardens probably an acre to an acre and a half. This tiler is a beast. I received the tiller put it together and tilled two rows in a garden previously filled from last year and it began to smoke and make a sqeeling noise. I stopped and turned the tiller off once the smoking stopped I started it an gain and tried to till but it would not due to both belts being burnt in half ... show more

    • Commonly breaks down with no convenient warranty repair shops
This product is a great price, so in some ways you get what you pay for. The tiller worked well enough for about 20 hours of operation. But much like many other reviews it started to make loud squeaking noises shortly after purchase. After about 20 hours of use the belt snapped, upon investigation there was an oil leak that leaked onto the belt that forced it to slip and eventually break. Overall it is a good machine if you get one that works. Be aware that there seem to be a fair amount of reviewers that experienced a similar problem with this machine. IF you buy, check to make sure you do not have oil leaks because it will cause issues down the road. ... show more
