I cannot compare this with other soundbars. This is my first one. It took just seconds to install. The hookups are included. I used the optical connection. The quality is outstanding. The subwoofer and deep bass tones are standouts. I simply can't believe that I've been relying on my TV's inferior speakers all these years when a soundbar - like this one - would take it to the next level. Suddenly, action movies are more exciting. You can hear the throaty background music and sounds. The dialogue is now crisp. Even watching the news is a brand-new experience with the soundbar. I've been looking for a soundbar that is reasonable price and sounds good and I purchased this and I've had it for a couple days now and I am dissatisfied with it will not connect to my TV using the Bluetooth I tried it several times no luck so I decided to use the wire to use listening to it and I think I'm pretty satisfied overall with the performance of the product just only thing I can say is dissatisfied with not able to connect to the Bluetooth ... show more

    • Sound is subjective - but add me to the choruses of praise!
Even after seeing so many positive reviews, I was skeptical that you could produce a soundbar of anything better than, "Meh. It's better than nothing" at this price point. But I was totally surprised by this unit's sound, quality build and options. Sound is always going to be subjective; it varies based on perception, mechanical and even psychological and social factors. I'm a little older now, but I still have a decent ear and used to be a musician. I've performed and worked in studios, so I feel confident in my opinion - but it is just my opinion. I feel that while it is a little mid-range weighted, you can adjust this with the sub button. As far as bass, I'm still trying to figure out how they did this without an actual separate sub - it's that full. The bar this is replacing - a Philips with a separate sub woofer never sounded this good. And that one costs twice as much as this unit. There IS a subwoofer out jack but most aren't going to need one for TV, Movies and most music. Maybe if your a gamer and you need to feel it, but I think most would be satisfied if not surprised by how good the bass and the sound field is on this. This also bested my Philips with a better remote and Bluetooth capacity, which I haven't tested yet. Seems like it's straightforward in the well written manual. No batteries included but at this price, come on, who's going to complain?? Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or repurchase.     • Won’t connect to TV, easily connects to phone
Says it’s easy to install but definitely isn’t that easy for me. Have a brand new Sony Bravia Smart TV. Have gone through the whole manual and it’s still not working. Sounds great playing music from my phone but that’s not why I got it. Sound quality is really good so I bet it’s a great soundbar if you can connect it. I’ve now spent a few hours trying to connect it on multiple occasions and nothing. I hate to give a bad review, but I was so excited for this and it was $40 down the drain. ... show more

As my wife and I have gotten older our hearing has gotten worse. It was to the point where we would put the cc on so we could read along with the programs. Not any more thank you! The sound bar adds just enough to the sound that we can hear the programming perfectly .

    • Very good sound bar
I've had this sound bar for over a month now and am very happy with it. Installation was a little tricky since several audio settings on your TV need to be changed. However, the enclosed instructions do a good job of explaining the changed settings, I recommend reading them before installing the sound bar. I used a digital audio optical cable in order to connect the sound bar to the TV, it was enclosed with the sound bar as were 2 other cables which allow alternative connection methods . The sound quality is great. When I hear glass breaking on TV using the sound bar, it actually sounds like breaking glass. There is a remote control which contains a power button, volume control, and memory control. Those controls are also on the sound bar itself. When the unit is turned off, it goes into standby mode. There is not a separate control to adjust base and treble. However, there are 3 preprogrammed settings which can be chosen, each varies the base and treble mix. I do not believe the sound bar will work with a universal remote, the one enclosed with the unit needs to be used. One other point I'd like to make is this unit is fairly tall. I was originally planning on setting the sound bar in front of our TV. However, when I did that the bar obstructed a very small part of the bottom of the TV screen. I found another spot for it and it has worked very well. To sum up, this is a reasonably priced sound bar with great sound. I'm very happy with it. ... show more
