had the footer broke on the first cast. broke the tip off , then after fixing the tip repair , the rod broke in the middle, took the reel off and JUNK IT? THE ONLY ROD TO BUY IS THE UGLY STICK 702, 802, 902 , 7,8,9 FOOTER, WORTH EVERY PENNY.

This seems to be a very sturdy rod, I have not caught anything real big yet but as I do all my rods I gave it a good 90 degree bend test and there were no sounds or appearances of cracking. One item to mention is that the top piece goes over the bottom, compared to any other rod I have where the top fit into the bottom. That is not a issue but for some reason it does not go over as far as the color markings, so it would appear not to be all the way on. It really seems to go on far enough so I’m not concerned with that, it’s just a small aesthetic issue. Overall I feel it’s a good rod and a good value so I will recommend it for the average fisherman. ... show more

Here’s my hubby’s review for this rod. He’s the expert. It is a little sturdier than I expected, though that does not seem to take away from the sensitivity when fishing. It has enough eyes to utilize the entire length, and strength of the rod when fighting a nice fish. The eyes are a little on the small side so they do affect the casting distance a little, but not enough to make me dislike it. All in all I would have to give it 4🐡🐡🐡🐡 For the money it’s a great value! ... show more

Good enough for its price. Rod was easy to put together and it looks very nice and sturdy. The note that it came with was a little confusing, not sure what “blanks” it’s talking about, the rod came divided in 2 pieces instead of 4. The connecting piece does not seem to go in all the way. Other than that, it will probably be good enough for catching small fish at the pier. (Reel is not included, I put that on when I got the rod). ... show more

*6’ rod As you can see from the photo, part of the connection area is exposed carbon rod… I’ve never seen that before. I will put a little resin on that portion or dremel the excess off, so no big deal. The action is as described. Definitely a medium action. If you have the skills to watch the line, then this could be a crappie-fish rod, but being a medium action, it’s not a super sensitive rod. It’s Great for bass and it’s a great price! ... show more
