With this 77-inch Sony Smart TV, it truly elevated my viewing experience. The big screen makes everything super immersive, whether I’m watching movies or games. The A95 chip is really impresses; it takes even low-quality content and makes it look fantastic. The QD-LED screen is amazing, giving me crisp contrast, especially in those dark scenes. The built-in speakers packed a punch too! It sounds great no matter when I’m playing movies or games. Sony really nailed the build quality here. Every detail feels premium, they even included the cover plate on the back that hides the screws and wires. The gesture control is a big plus as well, it’s a lifesaver when I can’t find the remote. The remote is sleek, compact, and has a nice backlight, which is great for dim rooms. My only complaint is that there are no number pads anymore, but honestly, with all the smart features and voice control, it’s not that big of deal. Setting it up was a breeze too. The instructions were straightforward, and it arrived super well-packed. Amazon delivery is once again quick and careful! I’m thrilled with this TV and would definitely buy another Sony from Amazon when I need a new one!

The Sony BRAVIA XR A95L is my main gaming TV, and honestly, it is one of the best TVs I have ever owned. The picture quality is absolutely incredible. Samsung and LG both make amazing OLEDs, and some of their models may get brighter in certain situations, but Sony’s picture processing is what makes the A95L feel so special. It does not just look bright or colorful for the sake of it. It looks natural, clean, accurate, and refined. The colors are vibrant, but they still look realistic. That is one of the things I love most about this TV. It feels like looking through a window instead of looking at a screen that is trying too hard to impress you. Skin tones look natural, movies have beautiful depth, and darker scenes still hold detail without everything being crushed into black. The picture has that cinematic Sony look where everything feels balanced and intentional. Gaming on the A95L is next level. It is smooth, responsive, and the image quality stays amazing even in Game Mode. That is extremely important to me because on a lot of TVs, Game Mode can come with noticeable compromises. You can lose contrast, color accuracy, black level performance, or some of the processing that makes the TV look premium. With the A95L, I do not feel like I am sacrificing picture quality just to get better gaming performance. It still looks stunning. The motion handling is another huge reason this TV stands out. I feel like people do not always talk about OLED stutter enough. Since OLED pixels respond so quickly, slow panning scenes can sometimes look choppy or stuttery if the TV does not handle motion well. Sony is on another level here. Motion looks smooth and natural without adding that awful soap opera effect. I do not notice distracting artifacts in fast-moving scenes either. It just looks clean, controlled, and effortless. I have seen other high-end OLEDs that look great, but the motion processing can feel hit or miss. Some TVs make motion look too artificial, while others do not do enough to smooth out the natural stutter that can happen with OLED. Sony finds the perfect balance. It keeps movies looking like movies, games feeling responsive, and fast-moving scenes looking clear without making everything look fake. For movies, shows, and gaming, the A95L is absolutely stunning. The contrast, color accuracy, motion handling, black levels, and overall processing are all incredible. It feels like Sony focused on making the image look right, not just flashy. If you care about picture quality and want a TV that feels premium every single time you turn it on, the A95L is easily one of the best TVs ever made.

I love the TV. Amazon delivered it, unboxed it, and installed the stand for me. The also removed all the packaging (a rather plain cardboard box). I was able to setup the Wifi and get the Google TV log on in about 10 minutes. Great color - very rich and bright. Resolution is impressive - easy to read across the room (15'). The sound was a pleasant surprise. I was planning to connect my home theater system to the TV, but I have decided there is no need, unlike my previous Sony TV (XBR-49E900 series). This one has surround sound that works great, even on some local channels (CBS) that had problems with the previous TV. Big improvement on the sound output and clarity. Closed Captioning is very pleasant and I use it more and more. I found the VESA wall mount kit easy to install because this TV comes with the proper screws already in the TV. The remote was really engineered well. It feels good - nice size with a textured aluminum case that is easy to grip. The had back lighting that comes on in a dark room when you just pick it up or move it. But, the best part was the button layout. Finally, SONY got this part exactly right! It is intuitive and works really well with the built-in apps. I easily installed other apps, too. The remote has 6 pre-programmed streaming service buttons on it (Netflix, Disney+, Amazon) which I found very handy. But the biggest surprise was that the key layout was ideal for Google TV (Youtube TV) viewing. The home button and return button are where you expect the, the cursor works as it should, and a surprise feature was the channel button actually worked on the Google TV menu ! Also, the previous channel comes back if you press the center "OK" button for 2 seconds. The TV is fast - going through the settings was quick. The menus are nicely arranged. The TV had a single power cord and no power "brick". I just wish the cord was white instead of black. I installed the TV on an adjustable wall mount. (I didn't like either of the SONY wall mounts - just get a $60 kit from Amazon) Instructions were poorly printed and almost useless. I had to get a magnifying glass to read the fine print and even then, they were not helpful. I had to go on-line and download the manuals to my computer and look at some videos. Then, the bonus was finding a remote control app for my iPhone which works perfectly! I think it's just called "TV Remote". The one called "Sony TV remote - BRAVIA" did not work at all) Why use an iPhone app as a remote ? Because, you don't have to ask someone to pass you the remote when you need to mute or adjust the volume! Suggestion: TVs should come with 2 remotes, anyway ! Update: I found a second Sony remote (RMF-TX910U Remote Control with backlight - in 2 different colors schemes, too) for about $40. The TV works with either one or my phone app. This makes channel changing easier with two people watching! Big feature when people do a lot of surfing during commercial breaks.

The picture quality of this TV is undisputedly stunning. I can sit slack-jawed in front of it and stare at almost any 4k content for hours and marvel at how gorgeous the picture is. But in other ways, Sony does some things in a very weird way that defy your expectations of how a smart company designs smart TVs. On almost every TV these days, there's a USB-2 port that is most often used to power a rear bias lighting strip that enhances viewing and reduces eyestrain. This TV has one too - but when you turn the TV off, power to that port will spring back to life, on and off, just for a few seconds, for several minutes after the TV is off. Then, hours later it will come on for a minute or so, then just an inexplicably go off. Why?? Why can't the USB port simply be powered off when the TV turns off like every other manufacturer's TV does? TCL TVs can set the timeout for USB power, and when it's off it's truly off and doesn't spring to life in the middle of the night. This appears to be a common problem amongst all Sony TVs. How difficult can this be to get right on a $3k device? (Answer - not at all difficult). Similarly with the LED power indicator on the front - it's on whenever the TV is plugged in, whether it's on or not. The LED is always there, and on. Other TVs have options to deal with this, but not this one. I covered it up as I am already quite aware whether or not there is power to my house. The back panel for the signal connections is located at the very bottom left of the TV, meaning that there is no room for cables to exit the back without being seen under the bottom edge when using the legs. When wall mounted, there is no easy channel to get HDMI/ethernet/etc cables into a wall or down a cable channel without a lot of serious 90 degree bending. Someone in the design department simply wasn't thinking about how to deal with the real world plethora of cables that have to come out of this thing. (The Sony HT-A7000 soundbar also has this problem, with HDMI cables exiting the back at different angles and locations, making a neat installation more difficult than it needs to be.) In addition, the huge size of the detachable panel cover makes it difficult to attach rear bias lighting LED strip to the outside back edge all around that lower corner. The power cable is not detachable, meaning you have to use an extension cord if it's not long enough. This is just weird - why not provide a standard AC jack like every other TV and let us use a power cord that works in our location instead of assuming that the 5 feet you gave us will always be perfect? Who thought this was a good idea? The Bravia camera on top is an ugly wart that serves no real purpose after setup. Mine is back in the box, and the TV looks much nicer without it. Maybe you need it for Zoom but not me. It looks expensive - can I get back the money I spent on it? No? (About Google TV OS, the less said the better. Disdain it, and get yourself an Apple ATV4K+ box. You will be a MUCH happier streamer. It's night-and-day easier to use, and you aren't constantly being pushed into the Google-sphere. I am not at all an Apple fanboi but the design and UI of this streaming device is far more sophisticated and operationally smooth than either a Google or Roku.) Kudos to Sony for a box design that allows for attaching the legs before completely removing the support styrofoam underneath, meaning you don't ever have to lay the panel down flat on its face or have someone hold the weight of it while you attach the legs. This makes it a lot easier to deal with a giant expensive device. Even if I'm going to mount a TV on the wall, as I will with this one, I always start out with it on the legs. This makes it easier to do initial testing, figure out where the VESA mount goes, how the cable routing will work, etc. The remote is made of aluminum, feels solid, and has an accelerometer that turns on the backlighting when you pick it up. This is very suave. The size of the remote is also smaller than previous Sony remotes which were uselessly too big. This is appreciated. There was a lot of apparent effort put into making the back of the TV appear with a consistent pattern across the entire back - little textured one inch squares. The detachable panel covers all line up and when everything is in place its a very consistent look. But it's totally useless - who looks at the back of their TV, ever? I don't care how beautiful or ugly the back panels are. Nobody cares. I'd rather it was an inconsistent mish-mash of ugly plastic thingies, if only the USB-2 port power would behave correctly and the cables were easier to route. Overall, this TV is certainly a major win. I'm very very happy so far, but there are just these little annoyances that would cost Sony nothing to deal with properly that make me wonder about how (or if) they think the consumer will be using it out here in the real world where very little resembles a Sony testing lab.

Fantastic TV! When it works....Speakers just up and died 1 year 3 months after purchase. Just outside the warranty period by 3 months, of course it did. Everything else about the tv is still pretty solid, but I can't give top marks to one that doesn't work. Off to go buy a speaker, I guess.

This TV replaces an older 60" plasma TV. The new TV is a 65" OLED with boosted brightness. The color is fantastic. It blows my old plasma TV away. I have never seen reds, oranges, yellows, greens and blues so vibrant before. You can also see subtle color differences between objects. Red on red doesn't blur into the larger object. It may be because I went from 1080p to 4k or because this TV can produce more colors. Whatever it is it just looks great. I have not seen any digital artifacts during fast motion. The only thing that I am not in love with is the operating system software. I have managed to get it stuck in an endless loop more than once. (Not sure if it is operator error or the operating system but the OS should not allow the user to do that.) I just changed the viewing source from antenna to an HDMI input source to get out of the loop. This TV is only a couple inches wider than my old 60" TV. This TV has a much narrower border around the screen. I did have to buy a vesa mount table stand because my table is not 5 feet wide. The included stand mounts at the extreme edges on the bottom of the TV. My table is only 30 inches wide and I did not want to buy new furniture. The new stand works great and the new TV fits perfectly in the same space as the old TV. The audio sounds good right from the screen. (This model uses the screen for speakers.) There is a noticeable delay in the video if you use an external audio video receiver for surround sound. Your AVR will need to be newer than my old Sony DE-885 so that you can program in an audio delay to get the lip sync corrected. I have to route all of my video devices into the TV first to let the TV sync the audio to the video. I then use the fiber optic output of the TV to send dolby digital audio to my AVR for surround sound 5.2.0. I will have to get a new AVR in the future. (My AVR doesn't have HDMI inputs so I can't use the eARC HDMI output from the TV yet.) Overall I love this TV. Now I have to buy newer 4k capable add-ons. All I have for now is a 4k joey with a Dish Network Hopper 3. There is not much 4k programming on Dish yet. Santa are you listening?

Warning - this model has a known main board issue that will go out without warning. Luckily it happen within the warranty period for us and I was able to work a replacement with Sony. The board itself cost $1,200 plus the install, so if it goes out and you are out of warranty it will be a very expensive fix. (Sony will not pay to unmount and remount a TV that is over 6 feet off the ground or mounted over a fireplace) That aside this is one of the best TVs I have ever owned. The picture and sound quality are superb at this price point, it is very then has spectacular black levels and can be fine tuned. Having Google TV built in was a very big part of the purchase choice and it works perfectly. We can easily cast from our phones to the TV, control the TV via our nest devices and it just works.

First off - I had an issue with delivery and Amazon’s customer service is absolutely amazing. Quickly worked out the issue and I am extremely happy with the result! On the TV- my 10 year old LG OLED E6 died last weekend. I was immediately on the hunt for a new TV. Lots of websites had this Sony as the top TV in 2023/2024, and had the LG G5 and Samsung 90F ahead of this one. I was originally planning to get an LG C5 but wanted to see the differences in person. Found a place with them all in stock and shopped them out against each other. Two decisions to be made - 1st, is technology difference worth the price difference (brightness/color) between the LG C5 and G5. The answer is it’s immediately obvious seeing the picture quality difference in person. Next, is there a huge difference between 83 and 77 inch TVs? For me, the technology difference was worth it and the size difference between 77 and 83 wasn’t worth 2x the price. While we were looking and discussing my wife noticed the Sony. The Sony is noticeably better in person than the LG G5 in terms of color accuracy. I realize this comparison was in store, but next to each other skin tones and blues were noticeably better on the Sony. So we offered to purchase on the spot, and they refused to let us take it home in an SUV. Went home and Amazon had it delivered to the house for the same price. It’s now hooked up and hung on the wall. I am extremely impressed with the color accuracy, upscaling, and motion handling - it is all noticeably better than the LG TV it replaced. Reflections are muted - tilted the TV slightly down and zero problem whatsoever in a bright room. Remote is amazing - well built and feels good in the hand and controls the Apple TV too. It’s a monster upgrade from the E6 OLED. The size is immersive in our room, the colors popping and the brightness great in a bright room. I could not be happier with both Amazon and this Sony A95L!
