We bought this TV to replace our 55 inch Sony Flat Screen that we've had for about 15 years. I am a senior and I would recommend you have your grandchild or a youngster that is digitally inclined with the set up. Today's Smart TV are no longer plug, update and play. You have to cycle through the digital media process. That being said even though it is 60 hz the picture is still great quality and does not freeze with the fast action that the older models used too. The sound is adequate but we connected it to a Bose Soundbar. The 50 inch size was comfortable for my wife and I to carry and set up. The TV comes with 4 HDMI and an optical cable link so you can hook up different components. Our old TV had only 2 HDMI ports and one died thus we are replacing it.

Sony is the best.
Given the price tag, this TV is an excellent value. Sleek lines, well-crafted, Sony knows what they’re doing. So far, I love this TV. The only thing to keep in mind is that you will likely need to adjust color/brightness/special features within the display controls to get the image the way you like it. Don’t get discouraged with the picture right out of the box, the screen took a little while to warm up and once I adjusted the display settings it looks amazing. This is a feature though and not a bug, this TV allows you a lot of control over the display settings which is awesome. I highly recommend this TV!

Apps are always glitching and restarts are constantly needed to continue watching.

Have had more problems with this TV than any other TV I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot. Apps are always failing, especially YouTube which is ironic since this is a Google TV and Google owns YouTube. You'd think the application would work consistently but it consistently fails. No video, but pause, and menus still appear. Have done factory reset several times. The only thing that will clear it is a system re-boot. Horrible in my opinion. Spent $200 on a Toshiba that works flawlessly and has great picture quality. Remote control is adequate, but I'm definitely not enjoying this TV. Very expensive for what you get.

The image is perfectly acceptable for the 700 I paid. It is old tech and built like a tank. Image pales compared to my LG Oleds but those are more than twice the price. It is a case of you get what you pay for and I was looking for an ok looking big tv for non critical viewing and this fits the bill. The interface is just fine btw.

The TV that smooths out the super loud explosions and noise!

This is our dream TV! Perfect, clear, superior sound! We love how we can set it to a normal volume and hear both the quiet scenes and loud scenes clearly and without discomfort or frustration. All previous TVs made us increase the volume a quite bit to hear soft/quiet scenes clearly, but then the loud scenes would be much too loud while we scrambled to get the remote and turn it down again. With this Sony Bravia 3, we can hear most things with a volume setting of only 5 (out of a possible 100!) if we have others in the house studying or sleeping. We have never had to elevate the sound above 25 even if there is other competing noise in the house or outside. The picture quality is wonderful, too. We no longer have to close the drapes to watch because the TV is crystal clear in spite of any glare from outside. Scenes that show space and stars are like looking up into a dark sky on a clear night. Now we are getting a 55-inch for the bedroom!
