My wife bought the mini fire pit for me for Christmas last year. I thought it would be worthless, but I was dead wrong! It was the best gift I ever had! Thank to my sweet lady for this wonderful gift. I lives in the city where there is no fireplace allowed and a big heavy fine. So, this is perfect. It's sat on my picnic table, easy fired it up, and watch the flame soar high and dance away in the air. Wow! No smoke at all! And I even can feel the warmth came from it. Beautiful! We had a Fourth of July back yard party and my oldest son know I have one so he grabbed it and set it up. My whole family love it, they keep added more woods to it and still enjoyed it for hours! I never thought my whole family hooked to the mini fire pit that quick! Two months ago, I bought Mesa XL so I can give my first mesa to my grandson for his apartment with smallest back yard. He and his girlfriend loved it! She said it was the best fire pit she ever enjoyed it every time my grandson lit it up. He said it fit perfectly in his back yard and always bring it in once it was completely cooled. They don't want any of his next door neighbors take it and use it. Even their landlord loved it too! They are very protective about their mini fire pit. I thought it was odd but hey! We all love Mesa and Mesa XL! One time last spring, I took it with me to my brother country home and set it up on the low end table. Once I got it going, my brother freaked out! He said it like a blow torch in there. We got this to have a small fire pit that we can put on our table outside while we are just hanging out and don't want to get a big fire going. So far, we have used pellets in it and they light perfectly with a propane torch. We can get just over a half of an hour of burn time without adding any more pellets. We haven't tried solid wood yet, but I imagine that it would work fine. This is a nice little pit for when we want a shorter burn. ... show more

Purchased this for a house warming gift. Glad to have received a sale price. Despite having the dimensions ahead of time, and seeing pictures in the ads, it was smaller than anticipated. Getting the first fire started was a bit challenging. We used a good amount of paper to light a chunk of wood meant for smokers. Used this for s'mores, 6 of us were able to rotate toasting and eating. Love the relatively short time that one piece of wood will burn, perfect for what we want from a table top stove. The media could not be loaded. You get about 7 minutes of flame before having to put another stick in, depending on the side of the sticks. You need to keep it nearby. Once the flame dies down, you need to add more wood before the coals go out. I tried the pellets. Eh. You get less burn time and more ash. The coals were not hot enough to ignite the next batch of pellets, I had to keep a small torch nearby to keep re-igniting the flame. Over all a nice unit ... show more
