Great Value System With Powerful Features and Minor Limitations

After a deeper and more thorough review of the Soliom system. Overall, this is almost a perfect system at a very affordable price. The hub base is a great extra safety feature because all your data is stored locally, so even if a camera were stolen, your recordings remain safe. There are no hidden subscription fees required for the primary functions, which is something I appreciate. Motion notifications are one of the strongest parts of the system. They pop up quickly, the sensitivity is excellent, and you get notified within seconds, which is extremely important for real‑time awareness. This is separate from the live‑view feature. Live view allows you to watch up to four cameras at once, which is very useful, but it is currently limited to 15 minutes. The notifications themselves work flawlessly and give you immediate awareness of activity. Cross‑cam detection is another standout feature. When an event occurs, the system automatically runs the videos from both cameras, giving you a complete and convenient playback without needing to manually select each clip unless you want to. Motion tracking is also solid. The camera stays on the moving object smoothly and returns to its default position afterward. Video quality is good, the app is easy to navigate, and the core functions like recording, notifications, and image quality are very reliable for the price. Two‑way talk is clear and loud on both sides. Overall, the hub, the motion detection, and the general performance of the system are strong. This is really a 4.5-star system, and I’m rounding it up to 5 because the core features are excellent and only minor adjustments are needed There are a few suggestions that would make this system perfect. When you tap a motion notification, it currently takes you to the home screen of the app. It would be better if you could choose to go directly into live view immediately from the activity pop‑up notification so you can see what is happening right away, or choose to go directly to the recording. It would also be helpful to have a full‑day playback option where you can run all videos from a selected date automatically, either from earliest to latest or starting from the most recent, without having to click each event individually. Recording duration could be more flexible. Right now the auto‑record options are 20 seconds or 60 seconds. This is not ideal because you end up watching extra footage that isn’t needed, and it wastes time. It would be much better if the system could automatically record only the actual length of the event, even if it’s just a few seconds, using some form of AI‑based auto‑trim. The live‑view streaming limit of 15 minutes is inconvenient for situations where you want continuous monitoring, like watching kids play outside. Even increasing the limit to one or two hours would be a major improvement, and battery usage should be left to the customer’s choice. It would also be nice to see Soliom add indoor cameras to their product line in the future. Overall, the core features of the Soliom system are very good. With a few adjustments to playback options, recording flexibility, a longer live‑view duration, and the ability to jump straight into live view from notifications, this could easily become a perfect camera system.

Good cameras

These cameras are great. I’ve had them for about 5 months now. And the storage system is great. Setup was pretty easy, just make sure you set them up high to capture everything. They track people and animals. They pick up audio pretty well. And they can record motion detection as well. They’ve handled pretty harsh winds and heavy rain as well. And their night vision mode is pretty good. Only downside is if you have it setup to motion capture and notify you of movement it will pick so many bugs. But overall great and no subscription for this price is worth it.

Soliom Home 5MP Security Camera Kit

Overall 4.8/5 I’ve been using Soliom solar cellular cameras for my business clients where we just cannot get power and/or network. So I preconceived expectations for the new home line of cameras, but I wanted to test them out. I’m happy to say I am not disappointed so far. Download the SoliomHome app and register an account. You can be setup with app and network hub in less than 15 minutes. Everything needed is included in the kit (network hub, cameras, solar panels, batteries, memory cards, mounting screws). I have my hub between 75 - 100 feet away from the cameras and they’ve not dropped connection yet. Pros: - easy setup 5/5. Even if you have no network knowledge, it couldn’t get easier than plugging in power and a network cable. The cameras are preconfigured to connect to the hub. - picture quality 4.5/5. These are 5MP cameras and although they do not zoom, the digital zoom when pinching the screen allows for up 8x zoom. One attached pic shows a fence zoomed in from 75 feet away. - value for money 5/5. This is a 4 camera kit with network hub for $320. You won’t find a better value in my opinion. Not only are the cameras wireless that connect to the included hub, but they are solar powered and charge a preinstalled battery. Also includes preinstalled memory card for recording. - cameras are easy to mount and configure. Still messing with some settings to see what I like best, however you can not only do motion detection. It will detect motion, people, vehicles. You can set it up to track the movement allowing the camera to follow the person moving around. - features a neat panoramic view of the camera view. This allows you to tap anywhere in the panoramic image and the camera will move to that position. Cons: - No physical lens zoom - Solar panel cable is really long if mounting direct to the camera.

I have been using this system for a year and I like it. It was easy to set up. One camera must have a bad battery. It goes off line at night. It started this after a few months of use. Videos are good quality. You can hear what is going on and talk to people near the camera.

Got these cameras about a year and half ago to replace some other single cameras from the same company that ended up going out after a couple years. The set up for this system was so easy. 3 screws for each camera the cable for the solar panel is really long if you need the panel to be above an awning or around a corner due to the camera being in a bad spot. or slides right on to the camera and mounts with it all using the same bracket. Easy to install and easy to remove if needed for maintenance or replacement. Everything was great camera quality was good, the tracking was really good the solar power kept the 3 outside powered and running at all times. and the home base was great to keep everything tidy and kept together information wise. A month or 2 ago we started having issues with one of our cameras no longer tracking or even claiming there were any events for people cars or animals crossing its detection paths. No idea why when going thru the app the camera works fine picture works pan and tilt work no issues at all. It just will not record any events or track people. Thats a problem as its the main camera for our driveway watching the entrance to the house and our cars. Good news we contacted the seller and explained what was going on. They were very quick to send us a replacement camera and everything is back up and going again. events are triggering and being recorded again. They were very quick and very thorough with the correspondence.

Excellent Product
Set name: 4-Cams Kit
These have proven to be a fantastic addition to our remote homestead. Being solar powered, we never have to charge them. We can monitor them remotely from anywhere. They do raise, lower and rotate, so you can get different views. We almost never move them. We purchased a kit of four cameras. It was easy to connect them wirelessly through our Starlink modem. I did have to contact the company, and they responded immediately and were very helpful. Admittedly I wasn’t hot on getting them; my wife demanded that we get them. Now I’m the one who watches them all the time. We are away from the property a lot, so it’s a peace of mind to examine portions of the property when we’re away. The recording feature is particularly nice. We have never recorded a ner-do-well on the property and hope we never do. It regularly catches the numerous deer that enjoy our yard when we’re away. They’re fun to watch. The ability to turn it off when we’re home is invaluable since it sends alerts to our phones if a recording is made of something or someone moving in the camera’s view. We have had it for nearly a year, and it continues to work flawlessly.

Acreage-Ready and Subscription-Free: A Solid 4-Cam Setup

This SOLIOM 5MP Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor 4-pack is an impressive subscription-free security setup. Living on nine acres, I needed reliable monitoring for both our gate, which sits two to three hundred feet away, for deliveries, and our home perimeter. I caught this kit on sale, which made the purchase an easy decision. Installation is straightforward, with the option to either attach the solar panels directly to the cameras or mount them separately. The cameras pair automatically with the base station out of the box. That base unit requires a wired Ethernet connection, and it is best to place it up high on a shelf and plug it into a UPS to maximize Wi-Fi range and minimize obstacles. The base includes a 32GB MicroSD card for loop recording, which you can easily upgrade to a 128GB high-endurance card designed for dash cams or security cameras. Rather than connecting to your home Wi-Fi network, the cameras use a dedicated wireless band to communicate directly with the base unit. While this prevents distant outdoor cameras from cluttering your home router traffic, it also means they cannot utilize existing outdoor mesh access points. The system communicates securely through the base unit to the app as long as both have an internet connection. Because these cameras do not use standard IP camera protocols like ONVIF, you cannot integrate them with a Network Video Recorder (NVR) or pull feeds onto a Home Assistant dashboard. However, this streamlined, closed architecture is likely what allows the cameras to conserve battery life so effectively.

Review of SOLIOM- 5MP Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor, No Subscription,4-Cam Pack, Solar Powered Home Security Camera with 360° Auto Tracking, Pan & Tilt, 3K Color Night Vision,5G & 2.4G Router Compatible I decided to upgrade my outside home perimeter security in addition to my Blink cameras. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before ordering these. I wanted cameras that I did not have to run power to and that would auto-track. These are solar powered and have auto-tracking. One must charge these completely before installing them for best results. The solar panels can screw directly into the tops of the camera mounts, or you can mount them separately. The cords to the panels are of sufficient length for most any mounting requirements. The video quality is very good. The auto-tracking works quite well. They were already paired with the home base/hub. The app is pretty straightforward and mostly user friendly. It’s easy to download and share videos. You are limited to a maximum of 60 seconds of video, but that’s what you deal with using a solar powered system as opposed to a hard-wired system providing continuous power. There are many settings that help you to tweak your preferences. While reviewing a video clip, you can use your finger to circle a face or person or object, and it will temporarily magnify that circled area. You can have each camera sleep for times that you might be outside, etc. The cams have microphones for conversations. There are settings for causing security lighting to illuminate during an event. It just takes some time to go through and choose your preferences. The instructions are pretty good. Thus far, I have had great success with notifications being almost instantaneous. For the price and ease of installation, this is a very good system. Especially for someone like me that doesn't want to try to run power cords and cables everywhere. A few things I did not like that this system lacks. You are limited to 4 cameras. There is no adding additional cameras later. This will take additional base units. There are no settings to eliminate some zones. This is sometimes tricky in getting a camera set just right in order to capture people or vehicles coming onto your property while eliminating the captures of passing vehicles and people. There is no way to have these cameras to be viewed on a separate monitor. You are limited to your phone/tablet via the app. In the app (I provided a screenshot), under the “Security” tab and titled “Scene”, you are given options of HOME, AWAY, and DISARM. Once you have chosen one of these options, the setting beside each device initially changes to your selection. If you change your selection again while in that same tab, the changes are not reflected until you close and reopen the app, or you switch back and forth between tabs. I would give this system 4.5 stars but am rounding up for the review.
