Since my headboard is quite wide, the cute lamps with shades that hook over the headboard won't work. This is the first model I've had that is counter-weighted enough to sit solidly on my headboard and is easy to turn on and off, plus it's dimmable. I bought this lamp because it required no screws in the wall, and easy to install. However, the light quality is very harsh and glaring, even on low dim. I would return it, but already threw packaging away.

Easy to install! Only had to screw in the panel and add the foam pad. I used only some of the padding. The extra foam block does pull apart okay in layers if you need it thinner. I'll be using the lower setting at night to check on my little one in the bassinet next to my bed (the higher setting for some midnight cleanup haha). So I have lamp and switch close to my bedside.
