Description

Solera Sliders by Lippert Components provide attractive and economical protection for all of your slide rooms. The Black Solera Slider attaches to both the slide room and the outside wall of the RV, creating a complete seal around the slide room. Dust, smoke, leaves, bugs and debris are blocked by the sleeve even when the slide room is retracted back into the RV. Solera Sliders are designed to fit many different rooms ranging in size from 56" to 188" in length and extend up to 50". Solera Sliders come complete with mounting hardware and awning rail. The hardware hole pattern is universal and will match most competitive brands, alleviating the need to patch holes. To order the correct Solera Slider, select the size that extends a minimum of 2 ½" beyond each side of your slide box width.

    • Not lasting.
I purchased the "Solera Black Slide Topper Awning - 13'6" (13'1" Fabric)" less than four months ago. Because I couldn't get to it right away, installation was probably only about three months ago. The best thing about this slide topper was the installation because my camper came with the mounting hardware preinstalled and ready to install this particular awning, and installing it exactly according to instructions was quick and easy. When completed, I felt a little uneasy about the amount of flex in the center of the 13.5 ft. roller but figured it to just be normal with a piece of aluminum of that length with spring loaded tension on it. Unfortunately, that flex in the center of the roller allows all of the pull/tension to be transferred to the outer edges of the fabric, specifically where it attaches to the camper. Today I went out to inspect the slide topper as we are preparing to hit the road with the camper, and I noticed that the fabric has begun to rip (at both ends) away from the hard plastic "rod" that is fed through the channel below the gutter, attaching the topper to the camper. The rips at both ends are currently only 3/8 of an inch long but I expect them to spread. They need to do something to reinforce these areas. ... show more

Topper came with everything except the sealing tape as expected. Install was straight forward (Youtube made it easy). Took our Camper out for the the first time and went through several major downpours and not a single drop of rain got through. I expected some flapping with the storm winds but the topper didn’t budge an inch. 13’6” Black topper. ... show more

Don't forget to buy caulk and Butyl tape!!! Super easy to install with two people, fits great, and looks good too! Brackets are easy. The top rail has more holes than screws provided (I think I missed a direction), so that's worth paying attention to. Didn't need two ladders, the second person can use a push broom, or something similar to hold up the other end while one person guides the fabric into the upper bracket.
