The kit works great. It had everything I needed and worked well. It has very fast temperature adjustments and lots of spare tips. Quality is pretty good for an inexpensive little unit. I've had a couple of cheap solder stations, and this one is definitely the best. Heats up quickly, temperature is pretty accurate, and has enough power to stay hot while you're soldering fairly large thermal loads. Handle is very light, base is not super heavy either. Comes with a selection of tips, but I mostly just use a fine point or small chisel point. Price is great for what you get.

The "helping hands" have poor flexibility and are zero help holding wires in proximity for soldering. Im sure theyre helpful holding rigid items in place.

An excellent soldering station! I had zero issues install the reel for the solder spool, or the helping hands alligator claws. I love that the soldering iron has a rubber ring around it to help it seat into the aluminum-lined solder-point socket. It keeps the tool secure and away from touching things while hot. I tested this by swapping battery connectors on a 6s RC Basher. I changed it from an XT90 connector to an EC5 which had 10 gauge wiring. Had to heat the iron up to maximum heat, after I swapped to the soldering point I prefer, and it was easy. I like the spool feature because you can stack around 3 or 4 separate spools of soldering wire for ease of access when soldering. I thought it seemed a bit like a gimmick, but now I see how useful it can be. All in all, I paid about this much for just a soldering iron before. That soldering iron still works, but is bulky and large. This is precision sized, cleanly setup, and has a few components to aid your work. I'd say it's a great upgrade from a basic kit!

A great value. Probably not professional grade, but a great value for a hobbyist like me. This greatly improved my soldering skills. i tried various methods of controlling the heat on my standard Weller soldering iron, but I spent most my time doing that and cleaning it once it got too hot. This controls the heat very well, the heat can be read in either Centigrade or Farenheit, and you can really dial it in. i think that it will last a while with careful use. Comes with all the stuff you need to solder. I suppose the included solder isn't very good, I use a 64/37 at about 390 F.

I'm impressed how fast this heats, mine only displays Centigrade, so 368 degrees C is my setting. Storage barrel is short- I burned my finger- cord is meltable- so just have to be a bit careful- but it does the job- 100W? Not sure about that but maybe my tip is small- several tips provided. Well worth the investment.
