These tend to last a year. They are easy to put together, and I switched them on and left them all day. They didn't light up. There is no "tab" to pull for the battery to make contact so after a couple days of them just not working, I opened them back up, and simply slid the switch off and back on. These torches put out great light for a warm, cozy feel, but I would add only one caution. If you plan to use the torches with the stand buried in the soil, I would glue the sharp tipped bottoms into the stand tube, otherwise when you collect them, you may find several points missing and very difficult to find. ... show more

Smaller than other solar lights I have, but the beautiful purple flame makes up for it. And it really is purple! I've had other solar lights claiming to be purple but they're usually a dark pink. These charge quickly and stay lit for about 5 hours when charged on a slightly overcast day.

These are useless. I should have listened to other poor reviews but I wanted purple solar lights for Halloween and other purple ones were very costly or wouldn't arrive in time and there were some good reviews so I took a chance. After 3 full days of sunlight NONE of the 8 lights turn on. Yes, I tried turning the switch on and off under the cap. NOTHING. Batteries must be totally dead or these are very old solar lights or something. Very disappointing, and there is no time to order from another seller. The orange torches I received from another seller turned on brightly after 6 hours of sunlight on the first day. I will be returning these. Don't waste your time buying these. ... show more
