I thought that they were broken because I put them up and they never turned on. The button on the back is not clear. I ordered another set and that didn't work either. Then my daughter discovered the button. We turned it on and let it charge in the sunlight for a day. It worked. I'm glad we have two sets too. One we set to twinkle and the other we just left on the regular setting. Our potting shed is lit up and looks fantastic. I really like these lights. I just wish it was more clear if the power is on and the setting is on. It is confusing and really a matter of letting it charge, while it is turned to on, and then testing it out.

I use these to clip on the exterior of my travel trailer. Nice muted light that lasts all night. Does not overpower the area after dark like some other "spot light" bright lights! They recharge during the day with the solar panel. Just be sure to face the solar panel south to get the best charge. Would buy again!

I bought these lights intending to create solar powered Christmas wreaths. Unfortunately there are a few problems that make these mostly unsuitable for this purpose. The first, most significant by far, problem is that these light sets have no memory. So when they run out of power in the early hours of the morning and then recharge during the day - as soon as they turn back on when it gets dark, they start flashing with one of the more distracting patterns. The 2nd problem is that these are dim. On one hand, these seen to vary in brightness based on remaining battery life which probably allows them to stay on much longer. But even after charging all day long in the bright sun, these LEDs are disappointing in their max brightness. When talking about all these things, I think making a comparison to solar fairy lights (they kind you put in Mason jars) is fair. I have some of those lights and they are much much brighter. On the positive side, these are warm white as expected. And these are much more durable, with thicker wiring than most of the solar or led lights you see. If they had a way to retain memory of the their last setting, I would probably go ahead and use them but I think that is the deal breaker for my use case.
