These are very simple to install and work just as advertised. When I first opened them, I was underwhelmed by the size and apparent quality, but the light output is misleading. At first they seem too dim for my needs but once it gets dark, they work great. My only issue is that one out of 7 doesn't work but for the price, it isn't worth my time to try for a replacement. ... show more

I added these to an outdoor staircase I built leading to a fire pit. Lights up the area before even getting to the stairs. I easily could have got away with 3 versus the 6 I added (still have 1 extra). I would buy these again if I need motion lights anywhere else outside.

Update. They actually do need full sun. After a few days these will only last 1-4 hours now. My fault. But we'll just move them to other locations. I'm extremely pleased. They are not getting full-direct sunlight but are still lasting throughout the night on the 2nd setting of dim with motion bright. Ordered 2 sets of 7ea for my ramp and lanai. Would be 5 stars but screws are crappy and can strip if not careful. EVERY rain, they do not work, which is the time you need them on a dark rainy night!). Need to be waterproofed. If you use these in a rain free environment they would probably be ok, ie a gazebo or as motion light in a shed.
