I installed two of these units onto a rain collector system. The units were pretty easy to install and I had little trouble setting them up. Some operational issues did arise and they needed some sorting out.. The first issue I ran into was that the placement location of the pumps resulted in a siphon being drawn from my tank when the pumps shut off. In order to fix this issue, I formed a loop higher than the pump head and the punctured the hose with a needle. Now the siphon will break however, when running a small trickle/stream of water is unfortunately lost. It would be better if the system came with a siphon break/valve as an optional point of install. The second issue I had was with the unit themselves, the water level line cords are kind of delicate and they led to malfunctions which stopped the pump. I found the best way to fix this issue is to support the wiring as best as possible so the connections are not under tension, with this type setup I have had no further issue with the alarms. Overall the plants like their continual supply of water, they pump about 400 ml per minute so you may need multiple units to setup your garden. I’d suggest a bigger version as one unit is almost completely used for the two squash plants I am growing. My peppers like this system the most and have been very happy with the results. ... show more

This works 100% great and easy to install, but there are only 3 settings for 5, 10, or 15 min either every 12 hours or 24z. I’d like to have more flexibility there. Love that I don’t have to worry about low battery and this beeps when the sensor detects a low water level which is nice. I attached it to my deck and had a 10 gallon tub of water with a hole cut out in the lid so this could be used for a long vacation ... show more

I've had this running now for just over 2 weeks with out issue. It follows the set frequency/duration without issue. An IMPORTANT NOTE, it will siphon when the pump is off unless you create a break. My pump is located on top of a 55 gal drum. The bottom of the drum is level with planters. So my water source is definitely higher than the emitters. In order to stop the siphon without wasting water, I installed a T and emitter immediately after the outlet. That emitter feeds back into drum. When the pump stops air goes back into the line and breaks the siphon. Without doing this I lost about 20gals in 24hrs. Now the flow stops immediately. Instead of 15 emitters being used for watering I effectively have only 14. Keep that in mind if you go this route. If this pump/panel lasts, I'll be grateful. It's awesome to be able to go on vacation and not have to ask anyone to swing by to keep your failing farmer aspirations alive. ... show more

Was skeptical, but purchased three anyway. Set up was easy. They give you a long cord so that you can place the solar panel anywhere it will get the most sun. Works great, waters my seedlings perfectly. Has a sensor that beeps when the water source is low. Thinking of setting up a float vale to automatically fill my water source and putting up the other Watering systems to take care of my other seedling beds. I am not sure how much water it supplies, need to research more. I was just excited to see if it worked. ... show more

I didn’t water my outdoor plants for a couple of days during the heat of the summer and they baked to death. Afterwards, I bought this as a backup plan to prevent that from happening again. Bought 2 sets of these to water my pepper plants in containers and for another section of my garden. The tubing it easy to work with though takes a little patience to get it over the barb on the timer. Make sure to make even cuts with your scissors and leave the tubing in the sun to warm up so that it’s more flexible. Lay out your containers and figure where you are going to mount the panel and make sure it is above the level of your water source. Measure out the entire length of tubing then splice in the pieces you need from the mainline to your containers. Took no time at all! I’m using a 5 gallon bucket with a lid as my water source to keep out bugs etc. I like the optional settings for 12 or 24 hour watering and the ability to choose the amount of time it runs. If it’s been raining it’s easy to turn off the switch and turn back on when you need it to start again. ... show more
