Bought to be used only for deer hunting season as quiet transport to deer stand and back. I've only put 2 miles on it so far but I am totally impressed so far, plenty of power and the fat tires make for a good ride off road. This step through Sohamo ebike is performing better than I was expecting for an electric bike at this price point. It comes less assembled than most ebikes, and that may turn off potential buyers, but for me that was a plus as I enjoyed putting it together. It still only took me about 30-40 minutes from start to finish. It comes with no assembly manual but a barcode on the box leads to a detailed assembly video. All the tools came included, and the ebike was very easy to put together. Pros: This ebike is very powerful. The thumb throttle can give you full power, no matter what peddling assist you are on. The hub motor has plenty of torque, and can cruise up hills with little effort. Brakes are mechanical, but have great stopping power and only minor adjustments were needed out of the box. The Shimano shifter is pretty standard, but works well and again required no adjustments. The plastic fenders are great, rear rack is solid, and folding ability is a plus. The 20 inch tires and small frame makes it a perfect fit for me (5'8") and girlfriend (5'5".) The seat has a lever that will fold up, allowing easy removal of the battery. Cons: The front dampening shock are nothing to write home about. They have no adjustments and just feel like what you would find on a cheap mountain bike. But they do work so I can't complain too much about it. The thumb throttle works well, however it feels a little flimsy like it was made out of cheaper plastic material. The battery (15ah) does not last nearly as long as they say it does, but that has been true with every ebike I have ridden. I can travel 15-18 miles before I start getting dead battery anxiety. Finally, I am apauled by the amount of packaging foam that came in the box. You know the kind that breaks off and clings to everything like white snow? I appreciate that it came well protected, but the amount of non‐recycled materials I had to deal with was terrible in this day and age. Overall thoughts: You get a lot of bike for the money spent on this folding ebike. The build quality is decent and it is fun to ride. I have a much larger ebike that I ride, but I find myself jumping on the Sohamo more often than not. I love the step through design and it's light weight (compared to my other, much larger ebike.) Other than the cheap feeling front suspension, and the garbage bag full of non-recycling materials, this ebike is a good ride. ... show more

Ordered this bike and it performs pretty well, hit some max speed of 26 MPH, but when going downhill, it goes 28, really good bike, good torque and helpful for me and my transportation situation

This ebike is well made and nice looking..very happy with bike but was missing front brake disk had a little trouble communicating with them but I ordered one on Amazon for 10.00 and it works good they said later they where sending me one in the mail..but every part u need for bike is on Amazon so if anything breaks later u should be able to replace it there but bike is make very good and lower price than others this does have cable brakes not hydraulic ...adding this 1 week later the brake disk was sent to me been riding it for three weeks at its a very good bike.. ... show more

I'm not at the max weight, but the bike is sturdy and does just fine for a larger adult. Most bikes seems to have a 265 lb. max load, so this one carries me and my belongings just fine. It's heavy to lift in and out of the SUV trunk at 63 lbs. I struggle with that. Might get a hitch and short bike carrier with a ramp. This is my first e-bike, and I'm having fun with it. Everything works, the controls are simple enough to figure out, and the bike is solid. The pedal assist feature is great. I like that it folds up quickly to put in the car.
