    • Better than regular light
If you're on a budget, this Skytex Softbox Lighting Kit is definitely better than using regular fluorescent or incandescent lights or "makeshift softboxes" like I've used in the past until I worked with someone that had real light boxes. They certainly lessen post-shoot editing. BUT, I have to say that, after reading reviews that mentioned them, and before making the purchase, I was disappointed that there were no remotes included with this kit. As someone who self-shoots a lot, I was looking forward to this convenience. They're even mentioned in the instruction manual that says the batteries for the remotes are not included. I contacted the Seller and was informed that the remotes only come with another kit that includes more lighting options. Bummer, but oh well... The material of the light boxes and their carry bags is pretty thin, so handle with care. The velcro that attaches them work ok, but takes a lot of adjustment to get the "screen" evenly stretched/placed completely around the housing so no light leaks around the sides. The rest of the assembly is easy and the bulbs afford good lighting. Also, the main carry bag into which everything fits, seems sturdy enough. *PLEASE NOTE: The tripods are VERY lightweight. You may want to consider weighting them if many people are moving around a set OR you're shooting outdoors where wind may be a possibility. All in all, I think this kit will work great for many projects. ... show more

Pretty nice set up for the price point, but one of my lights started making a buzzing noise after about 5 times. I bought these for making videos, so the sound in the background is not ideal. Itโ€™s probably good for photos thoughโ€ฆ

The softbox is fine but the stands are crap. To weak and filmsy to hold the softbox when you try to max extend it.

    • Nice product but the light is not powerful for vlogging
The product is well built. The stand is sturdy. It is easy to pack and unpack and adjust height. But the CFL bulb provided is not at all powerful though it looks big. If you are buying for a vlogging I would suggest going in for LED or CFL light that has atleast 5000 lumens or more. I ended up returning this and buying a Garage bulb (with extension cord) that has 8000 lumens and I get the light just what I need. ... show more
