  • Light and easy to run
This is a good product. I’m 63, female and live alone. I put it together by myself. It was an easy assembly. It runs great and man is it better than shoveling. I have arthritis and tasks are hard. This was a breeze. I had a normal 30 minute job done in 10 minutes. The cord is a pain but the price makes this one affordable. The cord isn’t that hard to move. A battery would make the job even easier. If you have extra cash, get the battery kind. Maybe buy several batteries so you can complete the job. One battery would do mine. I bought this corded unit to save time effort and money. I let my neighbor use it and he said it was “fun”. ... show more

  • Absolutely in love with it
Finally I get to test out this product I brought about a month ago. I wasn't sure about it when I first got it. First of all, let me say this. I had a snow blower (big and heavy one) looks like this. After fee days I finally opened the box and assembly it. It was very easy to put together, especially for a woman like me dont even own much tool (which you won't need any). Its extremely light weight, I was happy about that but also concerned that it won't get the job done since I live in Chicago, we could get up to 8inches or more snow sometimes. Well after testing it out today. I decided this I exactly what I need. Light weight enough for me to handle it without sweating. Also get the job done and done well. When u shovel I like my driveway to be spotless. I was about to get my driveway done in less than 30 mins that including me trying to fight it out to best to work this thing. I will have to say. This is a keeper for me. ... show more

  • 11Amps, 15 inches wide x 8 inches of snow, we got a winner.
Looks like I may be the first reviewer for this product so I'll try to be detailed. I bought this after debating this product or an electric snow shovel for cleaning my deck and walkway. I settled on this because of the following reasons: - It has an 11 Amp motor which is bigger than the 10 Amp motor on the 323E/324E or the 7.5Amp on the Toro. - It is 15 inch as opposed to the 12-13 inch on the shovels. - It has a 180 degree directional discharge chute and the electric snow shovels don't. - It is still light enough that I can move it around with ease (as opposed to my 200lb Craftsman 24 inch dual stage snow blower). Note that this product weighs about 22lbs on my bathroom scale so that may not necessarily be consider lightweight to some people, but light enough for me to carry it up and down the stairs with ease. - It has 8 inch snow depth as opposed to the 4"-6" on the electric shovels. - It is not much more expensive than the shovels. - It's made by a reputable company. The snow thrower (this is single stage so technically this is not a snow blower) comes packed on a small box that I easily carried up the stairs. First impressions from my wife is that it looks like a toy, which helped me justify the purchase by saying it was not expensive, so that's a plus on my list. The wheels do look a little cheap but perhaps they are all that they need to be. The rest looks solid enough. The plastic auger blade seems durable. It is easy to assemble and instructions are detailed with good detailed drawings and they come in English, Spanish and French. The only issue I had assembling it was with the deflector bolt because the included washer prevents the square neck of the bolt to catch on the discharge chute inner hole that is supposed to hold the bolt and prevent it from turning when the deflector knob is being tightened. Snow Joe, if you're reading this, you can easily solve this issue by using a bolt with a longer neck. But no biggie, just use a pair of pliers to hold the deflector bolt while you tighten the deflector knob, once it catches on then you don't need the pliers anymore and you can just tighten the knob as intended. There is conflicting information about the required extension cord for this unit (which is not included and needs to be purchased separately), Snow Joe's website says you need 12g for 100ft and 14g for 50ft but the product comes with a warning booklet attached to the power cord that says to use a 14 gauge for 100ft and a 16g for 50ft, same as it says on the manual. They all say not to use an extension cord longer than 100ft. Overall I think this is a good product for the price as listed on Amazon, which is lower than manufacturer's retail. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet so I'll update this review after I try it out. ... show more

  • Fantastic for Women
Living in Vermont in the winter I do a ton, no, tons of snow shoveling. After receiving an Amazon $100 gift certificate I decided I would treat myself to a snow removal device. As a senior woman I wanted something light and small. This is it! It seems like a toy but it really works great. I absolutely love it. It did a great job for me all winter. I don't let my husband use it because I'm afraid he may be too rough and break it though who knows. I'm gentle and patient with it and it clears the walks in no time. I carry it up and down the porch and basement stairs, where it's stored easily. It should be advertised in Women's magazines as it's a perfect product for us. Super lightweight, small, easy to carry, no messy gas and oil. Also I do my first clearing at 4-5 inches of snow so that it never is faced with too much depth. Works fine on 8-12 inches. ... show more

  • It works
I bought this two years ago and we had our first snow on Tuesday. Pulled it out and cleared the wheelchair ramp and driveway in no time. We had another snow yesterday easy as pie. The price has gone way up, but I think it is still worthwhile.

  • Does a good job for the price
First use of my Snow Joe today on 4 inches of snow. First of all, FORGET about it throwing the snow up to 20 feet, it's more like up to 3 or 4 feet. Maybe. The only good thing about that is that I live in a townhouse and the driveways next door are about 5 feet away. I'll have to plan things differently next time since I ended up having to do one section twice after calculating the 20 foot throw. I also have two other issues, I noticed the blade wasn't getting right down to the concrete after a little while so I'm a little concerned about that, and the snow tended to spit out the back of the chute. At least it will pay for itself after another snow fall vs a plow truck - as long as I don't have to replace any parts on it. Update: 2nd use: 6" powdery snow and it did a good job. The only problem was the chute kept flipping over and the snow was shooting upwards - I had to keep fixing that. ... show more
