I love this snow shovel! The first time we used it was during the crazy snow/ice storm we had at the beginning of Jan. We got about 10 inches of snow and then ice on top. Although this shovel is not designed for a storm like this, I have to give it an A+ for both performance and battery life. It was able to cut through the high snow and even through some of the icy snow. I was so impressed with how it handled this type of storm. It blew the snow very far away (however I do wish you could adjust the direction of the snow) and the battery seemed to last quite awhile. Weight wise I felt it was a tad heavy for me, but my husband didn’t have a problem. Definitely worth the price I paid. I can only imagine how it will be when we get a “normal” snow fall. It will be a piece of cake for this shovel .

I have had this thing for about 3 days now and I love it! I have a fairly big double driveway and this thing makes quick work of it and turns what would be an hour and a half to 2 hours of work into a 15-20minute job! I highly recommend this to anyone who is like me and HATES shoveling lol! It would also be good for people who are older and live alone like a relative or something who lives by themselves! I have been a buyer of Snow Joe products for years but this thing has me very happy! It doesn’t handle ice very well, but most shovels take work to get ice up but that’s what salt is for.

Definitely easier than manhandling a traditional snow shovel and great for short spaces if less than 6" of powdery snow. It was not heavy and is easy to control, even with one hand. The job will go fairly quickly in the previously described conditions and you get a lot done on the single charge of the included battery. Heavier wetter snows require an additional charge. The Snow Joe throws the snow in front of the machine at least 20 feet if it is not into the facing wind. It does not have a directional discharge devise so you can't direct where you discharge the snow. I found that it was laying down a quarter inch or so of snow in the lane that I had previously cleared as I took the next pass. It worked well on a short patio or walk but It was not ideal for my driveway. I imagine it will also work well on a deck. A directional discharge diverter would have been more effective when trying to use it in some wind. but to be fair, I am likely trying to use this model for jobs it was not designed, which is to clear a light snow fall (less than 6") in a space compatible with the 20' forward discharge.

I geared myself up for the Boston blizzard season, and this Snow Joe is more than disappointing! I own a house with about a 1,000 sq ft (100 sq meters) front yard. It only did half the job and then completely stopped running. 1. The battery life is extremely short, it dies within 10–15 minutes, definitely nowhere near the advertised 22 minutes. 2. It can’t handle thick snow over 3 inches. Anything above that easily clogs the Snow Joe and causes it to stop running completely. You have to rerun it over again and again. Today is the 3rd time since I bought it and the clogging problem is getting so real that I had to reboot it almost every 10 seconds with a fully charged battery. 3. Assembly was a nightmare. The wires don’t even fit into the handlebar. I had to push extremely hard just to squeeze them in. Very poor design. Attached is the picture of the half done yard. It didn't perform well at basic snow removal tasks, has disappointing battery life, and is frustrating to assemble. For Boston winters or any moderate snowfall, I would not recommend this product. Update: today is my 4th use to clear some shallow snow of 1-2 inches, the machine completely clogged and stopped running.

I was hesitant to buy an electric/rechargeable snow thrower, didn't expect the battery to last long enough. I am very happy with this Electric Snow Shovel. I mainly purchased it do to living in an apartment complex with no covered car port or garage. The property management hires people who are not concerned with plowing in everyone's cars behind a snow burm that is almost 3ft tall and 2 ft wide. So I took the gamble on this product, I am loving it. The handle has an adjustable secondary handle for better control, the power from the battery and the motor allow me to dig out my car and on both sides of it. The snow throwing distance with this surprised me. I can easily have the machine throw the snow clear across the driveway (about 30ft) when I pull the trigger all the way in. The battery still has enough power to allow me to use it to help clean the sidewalks around the apartment building.

Purchased in the fall on a special didn't have the need to use until the last couple of week. It does throws snow easily 15-20 feet depending on wetness. For the money it is okay but if I had a hands on comparison with others I probably would not purchase. Pros: - lightweight- Not sure how it compares to others, but would assume it is comparable. Obviously heaver than a shovel but light enough to pick up and carry down the street to help a neighbor. - Decent battery- 4ah that it came with is more than enough for several uses on walk ways and around vehicles. Large driveway would require additional batteries. Purchased a couple of aftermarket 6ah batteries for about 1/2 price that work quite well. Con: -Ergonomics suck. Trigger is awkward to use and get rather painful after extended use. I think they could have designed a better grip/trigger. Without gloves it works better but who are we kidding, I am not playing in the snow at 0-10 degrees without heavy gloves. Add to that the handle is probably about 6 inches too long- Picture this.. Deep or heavy snow where you have to take a couple of swipes to work down to the ground trying to hold this thing in the air while holding on the the awful trigger- One arm is extended backwards as far as possible while trying to activate the trigger- After a few minutes of that I would be better off with a shovel -No Directional on the throw. Yes it can throw quite a bit of snow but it is in a spray pattern- so end up spaying snow on areas you just cleared. For narrow walks and steps- not really on issue but for driveways and sidewalks.. it is horrible. If it is windy- just forget it. Not being able to direct the spray it tends to just blow back on you and you end up looking more like the abominable snow man - but colder and wetter. The best advise is to use it more like a vacuum cleaner. Push forward then pull back then move slightly left or right and repeat as you move forward through the area to be cleared. Knowing what I know now, I may have opted for something different. I mainly got it for tight areas around vehicles and steps as I have a larger snow blower for large areas, I was just hoping this would be a better alternate for lighter snows so that I don't have to drag out the bigger beast :) . For my purposes It works but they could have done a lot better for design without adding much cost, if any.

This little shovel has far exceeded my expectations. I used it for the recent snow fall in the northeast. My area received about 12 inches of light fluffy snow followed by 2 inches of sleet. The whole amount then sat overnight in subfreezing conditions. As long as I took no more than 6 inches per pass this machine moved it with no clogging. The shovel has much more power than I expected and it is more rugged than I expected. The pictures show a mound of plowed shows up against a shed door. I used the Snow Joe to move the snow away from the door. There is a yard stick in the upper right quadrant of the path way I cleared. Again, I used 6 inch bites starting from the top and worked my way to ground level. The only negative is I would like more run time from the battery but at age 75 maybe it's good that I take a break while the battery recharges. A second battery can add more run time if you are a youngster and want to keep going.
