  • Very impressive printer
Size: J1s
I did have an issue with initial setup where the auto-calibration failed and damaged the hot end as well as the build plate, but Amazon had a new one here in just a few days. I have used the auto-calibration a few times with no issues on the new machine. The Luban software is great and handles IDEX builds better than Cura in my opinion. It is a bit noisy to the point where using a speakerphone in the same room is not really possible, but having a casual conversation right next to it is fine. I love being able to send files from the computer to the printer via Wi-Fi, but be aware that pausing and continuing a print from the computer is less reliable than from the attached control panel and sometimes simply fails to restart from the computer. I love that you can abandon one extruder if printing duplicate models with each extruder and one print fails. This is not my first 3D printer, but it is my favorite. ... show more

  • Impressive Machine, Excellent Company!
Size: A350T
What a great machine. I'm new to 3d printing and so glad I started with Snapmaker. Not only is this a rock solid machine, Snapmaker has turned product packaging and assembly into an art form! Are there awards for this? If so, these folks win. Following their assembly directions, the machine was simple to assemble and get started. Plus their self calibration for 3d printing had me up and running without having to do any tweaking. After running it for a few weeks, I did have a couple of questions. Their tech support responded quickly and was very helpful in providing me with the information I needed. This is a solid machine. Everything fits together perfectly. So happy I chose Snapmaker for my first 3d printer. Ease of assembly, ease of use, and excellent tech support make it worth every penny! ... show more

  • Warning... I have now received two open boxed returns as new!
Size: F350
The replacement machine came with duct tape on the box and an amazon warehouse inspected sticker on the side. What it means to get an amazon warehouse sticker is that it was returned to amazon. Both had labels to other recipients that one is poorly marked out to a xixi in maryland and the other is remnants of a pulled off label. Both have others address information. Amazon is sending a third machine so I would hope they check first. Of four machines, one did not work at all and is being returned and I am working with support, that does in fact respond, on an auto-leveling issue, as in, it doesn't work at all. The quality of the 3d prints is very good but as I would imagine with any machine, garbage material in and that is what will come out. With good filament, I have had little problem. The unit I am returning moved the x axis to the left and wouldn't stop, I quickly turned it off and that was the end, no position information on the X axis and the machine didn't know what it was in the about screen. The box arrived beaten up and items were already open and torn, it had been in developer mode on the screen and had a name already in the android screen, indicating that it was either pieced together though everything appeared new. If I had seen the outer box prior to delivery, I would have refused it. The laser... mediocre. The 10w laser... mediocre and I feel both have software issues. I would still recommend this machine if you do not have the space but something snapmaker really needs to work on is making transisitoning to different tasks i.e., cnc, to laser to 3d printing, easier... It's a real pain in the can. ... show more

  • My Favorite 3D Printer
Size: J1s
I tried several printers but could not find one that would do what I needed, until I purchased the Snapmaker J1s. Did I have to try things a few times? Yes. there are nuances to 3D printing with every printer. I still use my old standby AnyCubic Mega Pro for a lot of prints, but I wanted to expand into the world of multi-color/types of filament, I looked for and purchased several IDEX or IDEX-like printers, until I found this one that actually worked. I am extremely happy with this printer, even though I had a clogged hot-end issue soon after I purchased it. I did call upon tech support, but I was impatient and just purchased a new hardened hot-end, since I was going to start using wood and metal filaments. There are a few things that I am going to upgrade on the printer. I already printed and mounted a set of filament guides. Since the spools are loaded in the back of the printer, I didn't see one of my spools get hung up. With the guides, I have not had any other issues. I am also going to extend the cover. In my opinion, there is not enough room at the top, and the factory filament paths with the factory bowden tubes to the hot-ends need more space for flexing, to relieve some of the pulling tension from the spools. Connecting the bowden tubes to the hot-ends creates a 90-degree bend in the filament, which I found problematic. As soon as I relieved these connections, and let the tubes "float", I was off to the races, printing everything without filament issues. Other people may not have these issues, since most probably won't be printing the intricate stuff I do. That is why I awarded 5-stars, because once I figured out what the issues were, it was easy to correct for them, and the printer has been doing a GREAT job since. ... show more
