  • I am impressed with this purchase.
I am impressed with this purchase for its values and quality. I had a previous Hyundai Santa Fe 2022 and bought the cross bars from Hyundai for around $325. I now added a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe to my family and decided to buy aftermarket cross bars on Amazon for $122 after tax. It appears to be the exact same product that the Hyundai parts department had for $325 plus tax. The installation was also as easy as it gets. It also appears that they improved on the key lock snap-in removable cover because it seems to stay in place and not pop out while driving at higher speed. ... show more

  • Good value and sturdy - be patient w/ instructions - you got this!
I had to view the instructions a few times to grasp the full intent of the installation process. I say "view" instead of "read" because they're mostly just drawings on a one-sided page that looks like it's been copied a few times. Don't worry about attaching the long beams yet - start unlocking the end sections first. Getting the small square faceplate open to get to the "locked" area underneath was interesting Push in the 2 lower corners (there are little arrows), then put a fingernail (or thin flathead screwdriver) into the groove at the top, then pull lightly - pops open. There's a little plastic "tie" that stays attached to that faceplate in the upper right corner - DON'T cut that, just let it dangle. Unlock keyhole w/ the key, and turn. Doing that can be a bit rough - jiggle it in the lock a bit, then unlock - you'll get it. Then remove the larger plastic surrounding housing. For smaller hands, this can be challenging, but keep working at it. I had to wiggle it a bit to get it off. Once those plastic parts are removed, loosen the 2 lower bolts w/ the smaller allen wrench (provided). Loosening those starts to OPEN the jaws of the clamp that will grab onto the rail, later. Tightening those same bolts of course tightens the clamp jaws, once you have it where you want it on the rail. Instructions help after that point - and just use common sense - you'll be fine. NOTE: be sure to decide WHERE on the side rails you want your two beams to be placed, before tightening any end clamps. I watched the short video on the ordering page for that "ballpark" placement. If you have something specific you want to fit on top of those beams, measure space betwn them first. There are some round "cutout" areas on the Santa Fe's attached silver car rails, but I believe those are for Hyundai mfg racks, not these secondary market ones (?). I think you can pretty much attach these clamped babies wherever you want them on the silver car rails. 2ND NOTE: Get on a step stool so you can see WTH you're doing up there. Better leverage too. The biggest hassle for me was the 2 short screws on the UNDERSIDE of each long arm, near each of the ends. You can't see them from the topside, since the holes are pointing downward, once the bars are actually on the car. Who knows - maybe I did something out of order in this installation - lol. But I wanted to SEE those screwholes to start tightening the final bits. So I placed a small mirror on top of the car, mirror facing UP, to see where the screw holes are. This way I could view and make sure they're aligned well. Hand-tighten first, then use the "star-head" allen wrench to fully tighten (this 2nd one also provided). I'm female and 58, and I enjoy these little challenges. Enjoy the process! ... show more

  • Fits well
Nice looking product, and easy to install. The locking cover (to mitigate theft) is flimsy plastic, and no thief would be slowed down by it. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be a big trend in stealing crossbars!

  • Perfect
Item as described, easy install, secure, durable.

  • Quality product at reasonable price
The product itself is excellent--sturdy with a nice design. As others have noted, the directions aren't the best, but anyone who is reasonably handy should be able to complete the installation. Be advised that the directions call for 53.6 lb-in of torque (6 N-m of torque in the metric system) when tightening the bolts that hold the crossbar supports to the rails on top of the car. This point is easy to miss given the tiny lettering of the instructions. I used a torque wrench to get the exact torque, but just be sure the crossbar supports are clamped on tightly. Also, the crossbars should be spaced just as they appear in the instructions--that is, with the front and back crossbars roughly aligned with the front and back edges of the rear door, respectively. Finally, while the crossbars are not too heavy, they are awkward to handle while installing on top of the car. Having a second person to lend a hand would be helpful. ... show more

  • Very nice
I have a Santa Fe 2023. Railings fit perfectly. Very good quality. Instructions throw out the window. Just YouTube it and very easy to install. Took me about 20 minutes. Totally worth it.

  • Covers fall off, exposing locking clamp>>> update 09.22.23
The plastic boot covers randomly fall off while driving on the highway. You cannot get extra parts. There is no US customer service. They look awful on my new vehicle with the covers missing. Received 09.22.23 I was shipped two complimentary plastic boot covers by customer service. I put the replacement one on and have been up and down the highway this weekend, appprox 425 miles helping a family member move. All four boots are still intact. ... show more
