I will not EVER stop raving about this bed. The pictures or description from the listing do not do it any justice. It is absolutely exquisite. The bed comes in two boxes. It is made of real wood, not particle board like I was highly expecting. The pictures made it look like a flat board type wood with a painted type of weathered/distressed look but it is NOT that!!! The finish is absolutely killer!!! It has SO much texture and really gives it a beautiful look that you can't see I'm the listing. I was SOOO surprised by how beautiful each piece was when I was unboxing it. Each piece was flawless. It is very sturdy. Each piece was clearly labeled. Easy assembly. My friend and I went at assembling it, and it only took a couple of hours. It is cheaper than a single twin bed I was looking to buy at Ashley furniture, but the quality of this bed is twice as good, hands down. I loved that the trundle was not on a track, and also featured three nice and spacious drawers. There is enough room between each bed to leave the bed underneath made up without having to strip it of it's comforter and pillow when rolling it back underneath. I was actually so surprised and am so in love with this bed, I actually reached out to the manufacturer to tell them thank you for making this bed!!! I HIGHLY recommend this product!!! ... show more

We have been looking for a trundle bed for our daughters for over a year. (5 & 7 years old - both 40 lbs) We finally purchased this one and couldn't be happier! The wood itself and the finish on it is absolutely beautiful. The instructions were easy to follow. It took about 4 hours total to assemble. It wasn't hard, just time consuming. We used an electric screwdriver. We bought matching mattresses. 8 inch. They fit great. The drawers are bigger than I thought and fit ALOT of stuff! Sturdy enough that our whole family has had snuggle time already. About 400lbs total. It seems very high quality and for the price we paid we are just ecstatic! Absolutely recommend!! ... show more

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. The bed turned out nicely, and it is very handsome. This was not an easy experience, so I am going to share my likes and dislikes, because I don't think everyone will feel as good about this purchase as I do. Dislikes: 1. The bed shipped without the hardware. We had to make a complaint with Amazon, who then had to reach out to the seller on our behalf. Luckily, the situation was resolved within a couple of days. 2. Extremely difficult to put together. The hex-wrench it came with was almost worthless, and threatened to strip all of its bolts, so we sifted through our collection of hex-wrenches and found one that worked much better. (WHY do manufacturers still use hex-wrench-reliant bolts when Phillip's heads are universal and functional?) 3. Power tools are not recommended, so expect to wear your arms out using the hex-wrench and screwdriver for every piece. Expect the process to take a couple of hours at least. 4. Instructions are okay, but could have been better. 5. I would prefer to have an extra board that runs along the backside of the bed frame for long-term wear and tear. 6. The trundle needs a mattress that is less than 9 inches thick. We had to put our older, 9" spring-filled mattress on the top, and the newer, 6" foam mattress on the trundle because the 9" wouldn't fit. I am fairly sure that a mattress between either of those thicknesses would probably work. 7. The trundle isn't attached, and it wanders a little on hardwood floors. (Not a dealbreaker for me.) 8. Expect the screws and their wood pieces to sometimes push each other apart. Make sure to inspect all of your work to be sure that everything is actually coming together and not separating during assembly. Some of the boards and screws don't get along without some effort on your part. Likes (after assembly): 1. As long as the bed isn't being jumped or flopped on, and it has been properly assembled, it's durable and functional. The trundle the drawers are also durable and functional. The entire bed feels safe, and it is very comfortable. 2. It's a very handsome bed. 3. The trundle feature is easy to use (although it roles pretty easily on hardwood floors, and sometimes slides out a little unexpectedly. It might seem silly, but we use a doorstop of a matching color, and it works really well.) 4. The drawers are big enough to hold my child's entire wardrobe. 5. The main frame and the trundle frame are not attached, making each lightweight when the drawers are removed from the trundle. We won't have to break the bed down when we have to move it. 6. There is extra storage under the trundle behind the drawers, with enough room for totes that aren't too deep, which can contain extra blankets, or seasonal outfits, or toys. I read the reviews that said this takes a while to build. They are right. But what I did was watch some good tv while building each component and prepping all the pieces. The next day, I assembled them. The assembly after all the prep took about 1-2 hours, which isn't bad. I also did most of it on my own. The 14 year old helped here and there. Very sturdy!! One complaint is that all the slats seem to be cut to fit the trundle assembly, while the bed itself is slightly larger. This led to a few slats being a bit too short and screws splitting the wood of the frame because they were too close to the edge. I would suggest the manufacture ship one group of trundle slats and another forthe main bed slats. They shouldn't try to do this one-size-fits-all approach because one size doesn't fit both. Other than that, it is very cool and works extremely well for a teenage boy. The drawers for clothes is a plus. ... show more

    • Beautiful but turns into junk!!

It was a beautiful bed and seemed very well made but after seven months of use a faulty side rail gave way and collapsed the entire structure. This has resulted in several areas of damage with it now being junk.

The bed was delivered in two separate boxes. We need to open both of them to assemble the bed. Some of the instructions are lacking but we figured it out. It’s very solid and sturdy. Only things I would change would be to add two more slats to the top and the bottom so you aren’t constantly losing stuffed animals or small things down the corners. Some finishing issues: inward and outward directions were not noted for the headboard and footboard pieces and there were some very rough sanded finishes that would snag blankets on the side rails and headboard and footboard. I could have faced them in words have they been marked top bottom left or right. the middle drawer is a little sticky and we tried troubleshooting it but it’s not a dealbreaker. You can comfortably sleep two adults in it without it making horrible, creaking noises like it’s going to fall apart. My kid loves it. ... show more
