There are no directions for assembly. Just directions on how to place and remove the crossbars once assembled. Not a lot of parts and prices, and it is all there. But, you just gotta looks at bolts and screws and parts and figure it out. FYI...the flat small rectangles of metal are shoved sideways into the tubes to put the brace pieces on with the screws... You will see what I mean if you purchase it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Mounts and crossbars are 100% plastic. As in, children's toy plastic. The aluminum used for the side bars is much thinner than expected. Rear section of frame is joined by plastic "T" connector. Should have known given its 110lb load rating. Worst of all, one of the rear hardware mounts was poorly threaded and will not hold the rack in place. So it's weak AND it would rattle like crazy (if I were leaving it on...) 0/5 stars. Would return but it's already assembled and massive. DO NOT BUY. You've been warned ... show more

    • Horrible Instructions!
Seems like a good product overall. Only time will tell. Be careful joining both sides of the rack because the joining tube is plastic and very fragile. Biggest crap is the instructions!!!!! They send you a copy of SIMILAR rack, not the rack you actually purchased. Even the downloadable instructions are the same as what they send you. Theres no mention of the little metal bracket you have to pound into the tubes of the rack to tighten the mounts that mount to the car. They dont mention the non slip rubber rectangles you add to every rack crossbar bracket so the crossbar does not slip. Overall looks like a nice rack, its about half price of the OEM TRD rack so hopefully i dont regret my purchase ... show more

The back section is plastic and doesn’t fit snug. The instructions that came were just for the side bars. Was a slight pain to put the rectangular nuts in the base to screw on the bottom mounts but with some time and elbow grease it fit. I would hope that they can fix the back piece to aluminum or metal. ... show more

    • Wrong instrument
I Wrong instructions weren’t sent with the product and they sent a wrong part to assemble it so I’m returning it. Aswell as it’s cheaply made plastic and thin aluminum max capacity is 110ibs I can see why don’t waste your money or your time getting this item

[Update Nov 26, 2022] So far so good! No issues have occured and the rack has had several uses in off-road trips. We tie down small travel cases for camping trips and one point even threw a tarp and strapped down some bundles of firewood. The plastic and rubber parts so far are doing good too. I was worried about those components failing early. [Feb 28, 2022] Original Review This review is for: "Snailfly Roof Rack Basket Fit for 2010-2021 Toyota 4Runner" I got this rack to replace the factory rails on a 2021 4Runner. Looking for something to help carry some totes for light off road and camping trips. Received the package in the mail, I was glad to see that everything was individually wrapped and protected for shipment. The included instructions were just 2 papers with very faded print on it that was useless. I emailed the seller and received a quick response with a pdf copy of install instructions - which I screenshot and included in my pictures for anyone else who may need them in the future. When I finally got some time off of work, I went to knock out this install. Instructions are very basic and not quite the best. Install was a little confusing due their being a few ways to installing the product. Some of the screws didn't fit accordingly and the plastic on the curved metals piece snapped with any pressure. I was able to fix it with other pieces I had around the house. The rubber boots that are given to you, unfortunately, feel sunbaked. Hopefully water doesn't leak into the cabin - this is something I will have to keep an eye on. Product feel: Honestly, it feels very flimsy for price of the product. The connecting bars that connect the left side and the right side are very brittle plastic. The bars themselves have some flex which I'm not sure about. Hopefully it stands to the ultimate test; time/weather. Appearance wise, I believe the product looks amazing.! Once completely installed it feels sturdy enough to place some luggage up top, but not anything heavier. It could use small improvements; for example, better rubbers on the feet and stronger plastic pieces. We will see how it handles the sun UV rays, weather, how well it seals to prevent water intrusion, etc. I will update my review as time goes on if I run into any issues. Overall, it seems like a good rack for luggage and totes with not much weight ... show more

    • There is some wind noise.
The rack looks great!! I did notice that there is wind noise. I'm considering making some kind of metal wind deflector that will match my roof rack. The wind doesn't bother me. I love the looks!!
