I did a lot of research on buying the right rack for my 2023 4runner that was not OEM. This was perfect. Ignore people who complained about install - if you can put things together this was easy. With that said, do not expect instructions. Instead watch the video that’s posted here. The guy does a great job explaining - I would watch it all the way through one time. The hardest part is hammering in the little hooks, but stick it — bang in like he does and adjust with a screwdiver. Also if you have the existing Toyota OEM rack, YouTube “Delete your 4runner roof rack” and watch that guy. The key is having the plastic lever tools (that you can get for $5 on Amazon) to pop the caps off w/out scratching car. Also I reused those bolts and used the 5200 marine sealant like the guy here does. Roof rack looks awesome - just like the OEM that comes with the TRD PRO. I also have the ladder on the back and it fits perfect with that. The price is good. It’s lightweight, BUT so is the OEM rack that came on car at purchase. Which makes it easy to install as 1 person. Definitely would buy again.

There are no directions for assembly. Just directions on how to place and remove the crossbars once assembled. Not a lot of parts and prices, and it is all there. But, you just gotta looks at bolts and screws and parts and figure it out. FYI...the flat small rectangles of metal are shoved sideways into the tubes to put the brace pieces on with the screws... You will see what I mean if you purchase it.

I ordered this rack for a TOYOTA 4Runner Off-Road 2023 and I received instructions for the 2020 model. I need 8 metal plate-A to attach this rack to the car roof and I just received 4 of them. There is any way to attach the front bases to the rack or something is missing or screws with nuts are missing

I installed the Snailfly roof rack basket on my 2015 Toyota 4Runner, and it’s been a great upgrade. The build quality feels solid — sturdy metal with a nice powder-coated finish that looks like it came stock. Installation was surprisingly easy with basic tools, and it fit perfectly with the factory mounting points. The design is low-profile but still gives me plenty of space to carry camping gear, luggage, or even extra fuel cans. It also came with an extra crossbar, which added some flexibility for mounting accessories. No noticeable wind noise while driving, and it hasn’t affected fuel mileage much either. If you’re looking for a functional and sleek-looking roof rack that fits your 4Runner like a glove, this one’s a great choice. Highly recommend!

There was an installation video in the photos section. I saw reviews saying the tubing was thin. Mine arrived and it seemed fine. Its not a roll cage. The mounting feet and rear tee section joining the two halfs are plastic. But are stout plastic. I attached a clamp mount flag holder to the tubing for my dune flag. The 4 cross bars can mount top or bottom tube as needed and my Yakima solar shower is rock solid up there. Changed the look of my toyota to something different in a sea of 4 runners. Everyone has the factory roof racks or the over lander flat rack. Few around here has this style. I see eyes on my roof often. Pay attention to the installment video because the supplied instructions are terrible. Its not complicated but without the video this would suck.

The back section is plastic and doesn’t fit snug. The instructions that came were just for the side bars. Was a slight pain to put the rectangular nuts in the base to screw on the bottom mounts but with some time and elbow grease it fit. I would hope that they can fix the back piece to aluminum or metal.

Seems like a good product overall. Only time will tell. Be careful joining both sides of the rack because the joining tube is plastic and very fragile. Biggest crap is the instructions!!!!! They send you a copy of SIMILAR rack, not the rack you actually purchased. Even the downloadable instructions are the same as what they send you. Theres no mention of the little metal bracket you have to pound into the tubes of the rack to tighten the mounts that mount to the car. They dont mention the non slip rubber rectangles you add to every rack crossbar bracket so the crossbar does not slip. Overall looks like a nice rack, its about half price of the OEM TRD rack so hopefully i dont regret my purchase
