Initial impressions of these crossbars were great, but quickly faded for a number of reasons. The hardware that the bars use is extremely cheap. For example, the bolts that tighten the bars to the roof gutters thread into brass threads, which completely strip when tightened down to spec. This renders the bars useless as they will not clamp to the roof gutters. Even when I was able to mount the bars to the roof without stripping these threads, the bars move considerably and make a tremendous amount of squeaking and rattling noises. Their movement has left deep scratches and gouges in my roof, which I've detailed in my photos. These bars have caused considerable damage to my Wrangler and are not worth considering. Snailfly has sent a total of 6 replacement feet, all of which have had the same points of failure. They refuse to provide any refund despite their products inherent faults. Look elsewhere or risk damaging your Wrangler and wasting your money. ... show more

    • Installation Instructions - Needs more detail
The instructions did not include key assembly instructions which could lead to safety issues. The instructions need to include better detail pictures (any would be helpful). I had to install and re-install the first cross bar several times since it didn't seem to be stable. Warning/Heads up: The product pieces allow for one part (the side piece that attaches to the drip edge) to slide into the cross bar (inside the bar) while the other part (rectangular bolt part) to slide UNDER the cross bar which, while it seems assembled, it was not stable (and probably would has come apart on the road). Additionally, the locking (key) plate, at first, didn't seem to fit but after man-handling the piece, it clicked into place. The instructions should have provided some guidance (ie. using a closed fist, lightly tap/pound it into place. If it won't go into place, then pound it using more force. LOL). The second cross bar went into place very quickly - less than 10 minutes. Total installation time was 1 hour and 10 minutes. Second cross bar installation took 9 minutes. ... show more

Bought these a couple of weeks ago, pretty easy to assemble. So far they’re working out fine. I was super leery to get them as I wanted something quickly for a fly rod holder I bought. So fingers crossed it continues to hold up well.

    • Nice looking, but…
Racks look and fit great, but they are made of cheap plastic, and the lock mechanisms are cheaply made, and breaks. Wish they would have broke before the return window. I’d suggest passing on these and looking for a little bit better quality rack.
