  • She Isn't Even Trying To Get Out Now
I have a 90-ish lb Doberman German Shepherd mix with separation anxiety. We had her in one of those huge wire crates from Tractor Supply, which she broke out of several times, so we reinforced it with the extra heavy duty zip ties. Well then she started peeling the wire bars off one by one in order from left to right to make a hole big enough to slip out of. Is this a dog or a velociraptor?? I got this crate, covered the top/back/sides with a moving blanket, and got a Wyze camera to keep an eye on her. This crate is fantastic. She goes right in and lays down, we haven't had any escapes, and from my obsessive camera checking she isn't even trying to get out. I also reinforced the sides of this crate with the big zip ties, since the only thing holding it together was like 8 bolts and that made me nervous. It was pretty easy to put together, I did it myself. If you don't have help I recommend temporarily zip tying the 4 sides together so they stay still while you get the top on, then cutting those off after. Love that the vertical bars actually go through the horizontal bars, its not just a million little welds. Also love that the plastic trays in the bottom are beneath the floor grate, because she tears those up too if she can get to them. Absolutely the best crate ever. I've had it for a month now. Wire crates only lasted a week before she escaped. Also recommended to my mother-in-law who has her brother. Same breed, same litter, but he's easily about 20lbs heavier than my dog and also an escape artist. ... show more

  • Great quality, increased safety
Size: upgraded 42" Color: Dark Silver
So these heavy duty cages are mush sturdier for your 50 lbs pound + dogs. Our dog managed to get out of his wired. Cage and tore up his snout in the process. This is much more rounded off and easy to move with the wheels. Highly recommend for those escape artist dogs.

  • VERY STURDY CRATE
This crate would be very acceptable for anyone who has a medium to large working, sporting, or hound breed. It has sturdy latches that can’t be opened by a K9. It has rolling casters that can easily be locked in place to prevent the dog’s movements inside the crate from causing the crate to slide around. There are 2 tray pans that store in separate slots underneath the floor of the crate, enabling pretty easy wet or dry clean-up of fluids and materials that pass through the crate floor. I purchased a “K9 Ballstics” chew-proof crate pad for my dog to lie on, enhancing his comfort in the crate. This crate is heavy, so it’s probably not something you’re going to want to break down often for traveling, etc. I bought this for my 8 month old Yellow Labrador puppy. He is the frame size of a fully grown Doberman right now. I estimate his current weight at around 60 lbs. There is enough room for him to stand, turn around, sit, and lie on his side fully extended without being cramped. Like some of the other people who have posted about this product, the crate packing (cardboard box) had a hole about the size of my fist upon arrival. One of the horizontal pieces of the frame, close to the bottom, front of the crate is dented somewhat. However, the damage doesn’t effect the crate’s performance or present any potential hazard to my dog. I have already recommended this crate to a friend who recently purchased a Belgian Malinois puppy. I have significant experience raising and training Doberman Pinschers in the past and this crate would’ve been excellent for them as well. Crate train your dogs! You, your dog, and your veterinarian will be glad you did! ... show more

  • They work great.
Size: upgraded 38" Color: Dark Silver
So I bought 3 of these because somehow we were gifted with all 3 of our dogs having separation anxiety to different degrees. A friend of mine had gotten one for her pitbull and raved about it so I figured it was worth a shot. We have a husky German Shepard mix, a purebred Siberian husky, and a pit mix so we needed something strong enough to hold them in and these have worked fantastic. They sleep in them all the time even with the door open, they’ve really turned them into safe spaces and I feel a lot better knowing they won’t be making a jail break… plus my husky like to sleep in them the cutest way so they also give me mild entertainment 😂 definitely worth it. ... show more

  • So far we are happy.
Size: upgraded 42" Color: Dark Silver
Our pitbull Charlie has separation anxiety, like most of the dogs whose owners are looking at these reviews and are willing to spend $300 for a dog cage. Our dog absolutely destroyed his wire cage as he was escaping, several times. I was able to repair and then rig the cage with clips and zip ties to the point where he couldn't get out, but it didn't stop him from trying. He didn't get out but he did destroy the cage again and cut his muzzle, head and paw trying. So we said no more cage. We tried leaving him out of the cage for a week or so but he chews shoes, clothing, picture frames etc. So this was the next step, a heavy duty cage. I reviewed many HD cages and decided this was the best choice for us. So far it has been great...night & day. He actually seems to like the cage. Truth be told, that I can tell he hasn't even tried to break out of this cage! Maybe it is the wide bars as opposed to his old thin wire cage, maybe he feels secure in this cage...I don't know but 3 weeks in and it is working. I think the quality is pretty good, a few questionable tack welds that most people wouldn't have even noticed (I always look at these things) but again, so far we are happy. I gave it four stars instead of five because it arrived kind of beat up. The box was tore up and four or five of the bars were dented and/or slightly bent. Keeping in mind though that this cage weighs almost 70 lbs if memory serves me right...a lot of weight to handle for some warehouse workers and drivers. All of these HD cages weigh a lot! Read enough reviews and they all have some complaints about shipping damage. Knowing these cages are going to be hard to handle in shipping and take some abuse, I thought it could have been packaged a little better. All that said, the minor damage did not affect fit, form or function. All of the panels lined up, doors and latches work fine! I had no problem putting it together, it was very simple. The manufacturer supplied tools that will work but it is easier if you use a socket and ratchet or a ratcheting wrench. So far, we are very happy with the purchase and would be able to recommend it to others. ... show more
