Got it today and lit it up. It comes assembled so it’s ready to go. Got it just to clean up sticks in the yard and it’s perfect for that. Probably not big enough for big logs. And seems like it’ll be hard to clean out the ash but for the price it’s great. Pretty smokeless too.

The media could not be loaded. This for pit is FANTASTIC! It is supposed to be rusted since it’s Corten steel (look it up before buying). Heavy gauge steel which will last a long time. Fraction of the price of competitors using stainless steel. Definitely a good buy.

I like the idea of this but execution just doesn’t work. Firstly, the rusted metal is very rusty and gets all over the place. coming out of the box rusted flakes going everywhere. Second, no directions whatsoever. It’s all one piece, except for one extra ring. I assume that goes on the bottom to keep it off the ground? how do I get the ash out afterwards? Which brings me to my third problem, cleaning. Turn over and dump the ash out? Wash it out, goes out the holes on the bottom and makes a mess everywhere? Fourth problem- The bottom is a messy kind of thing… too big to try to use small kindling to start the fire yet too, small stick fall through. 5th, the size of the circle is not great to put logs in it. Either need to stand up tall, (sticking out the top) or cut very small. Lastly, this is my first time dealing with a smokeless fire pit… NOT SMOKELESS whatsoever. I wish I knew how to use this better. Not sure how long I’m keeping this or how many times a minute try to use it. First attempt last night was not so great. We’re still able to roast some marshmallows, so that saved it for me one star review.

Having been a former steel worker, I can tell you with all certainty that this fire pit is heavy duty and industrial! I have several fire pits that are chromed, which use a much thinner metal. This fire pit uses a much thicker metal and actually uses natural rust to color the fire pit! When you are investing this much money into a portable fire pit, you have to know that it is going to last for years upon years; this one will! It is beautifully aesthetic as you sit outside, watch it, and drink coffee. The rust hues change in color the more that you use it. This size fire pit is considered a hybrid because it is right in between the largest size and the smallest size. I find it a perfect size for every day use. I love the rusted patina but it will get on your hands and therefore the manufacture includes a pair of gloves for you to handle it with. The base is heavy duty with air inlet holes, there are no sharp edges, and leaving it outside will not cause it to rust anymore than it already is but will actually add to the aesthetic look of it. My only complaint would be that it did not come with a storing bag or cover. They've done a wonderful job with the rusted earth tones and the quality in which they manufactured this product. You can use pellets in it or hard woods. The thickness of the metal that they are using is much thicker than the competition, so this unit is built to last. When comparing the price of this against a leading manufacturer, you will find that this is very competitively priced and double the size of the smaller units that can't keep you warm like this one can. You can actually cook hotdogs or s'mores over this, and after you stop feeding it wood it will cool down in about three to four hours so that you are able to dump the ashes out of it . Realize when considering this item that it is not just for one summer or winter, it is for years and years of use and enjoyment. There is something about sitting outside in the dark while watching a small fire and sipping on your favorite beverage. I love the rust look on it more than I thought that I would, the color would remind you of an earthen flower pot but there are some people who just won't like it. I just thought it was neat, and I highly recommend it!

The media could not be loaded. First, if you are not familiar with Corten steel, it's made specifically to oxidize, then STOP unlike regular steel that will continue to rust. Even stainless will start rusting if it gets hot enough, so I feel like this is a good compromise for a long term solution. It does mean, however, that it will stain if it's sitting on something you care about like concrete, so put something like a paver barrier or something if that's the case. I have two issues with this product. One is the shipping. There is no padding on this. I feel like it was pure luck it made it to me without getting destroyed or separated from the box. The main issue, however, is what happens when the bottom air flow chamber fills with ash? It will. There's no way around it. All the pieces except the top are welded in place, so purging ash in the bottom for proper airflow will be a lot more difficult than if the interior just rested on ledges.

I really love the idea of this "smokeless fire pit". In concept, it appears to be a low budget rip off of "the other guys" fire pit. You know the one.. with all the commercials and marketing. It arrived and the rust had certainly come off all over the box, so I carefully moved it outside. Once outside I realized it does not, in fact, have a stand, and sits right on the ground, so I had to fashion something together to keep it from burning or damaging my stamped concrete. Once you get a fire going in it however, it works really well. Just as good as "the other guys". The look and feel is kind of hard to get over, but once you have the surround it is good to go!
